We rented this particular property because the initial listing included access to a pool. We brought our 5 grandchildren with the hope that we could teach them to swim. The manager sent us an emailed attachment giving us directions to the pool. Unfortunately, when we packed up and went to the pool, we were told that we could not use the pool. The pool access was dropped 4 years ago!
When I called the manager, Anthony Benton, he was very abrupt and rudely told us that we were completely mistaken and that in no way was there any reference to pool access. He stated firmly that pool access was not mentioned on the VRBO website.
I emailed him the attachment that he emailed me the day before our arrival at the property clearly stating how to access the pool. The next day, he emailed me that we could access the pool, but only for that day.
He never apologized, he never reached out to admit that he had made a mistake. One simple apology and we would have let it go. But he was so rude on the phone! I will NEVER rent from this manager again.
Look, we all make mistakes, but the appropriate thing to do is apologize and try to make amends. Just one statement..."I'm so sorry, I made an error...my fault!" and we would have let it go. But no, nothing! So sad.
We ended up taking our grandkids to a public pool at Jamaica Beach where we had to pay additional pool fees.
