"The property itself needs a little work. There were stains on the ceiling and it could have been a little bit cleaner (there were pee pee drops on the front of the toilet and the floor needed a good vacuuming). We had to check into the B&B from the next door hotel which seemed a little shady inside. The B&B write up claimed the it was located on the beach. It is not. You have to either walk thru an alley way or cut through the neighboring property to access the beach. The reason I rated the B&B...

"The staff were nice. The hotel was fairly clean. The price was reasonable. The only thing I didn’t like was, they don’t have an elevator. They also don’t serve breakfast."

"I am rating this a 3 because when I checked out, the hotel gave me a receipt that showed Expedia got the room at a discount and I was charged $300 more than what was on the receipt. Please contact the hotel to see if the prices are similar before you book with Expedia. Also, if you want a true ocean view, ask for a room on the 4th floor."

"I made the mistake of booking a room thinking that all the rooms had balconies overlooking the beach, like the main pictures. It turned out that the Double bed room we'd booked was just a small, motel-like room with two beds and one chair and the only window was to the walkway by the door. It was our own fault, and I knew it was non-refundable when I booked it. And neither we nor Expedia could get them to budge with even a partial refund when we left early. "Palmera inn is one of the best values on Hilton head for what you get. The king balcony room was huge with two full bathrooms, living area, balcony, and kitchenette. Their location is just minutes to everything and they even allowed us to check ins couple hours early which was nice! We don’t even get to use all the amenities this place had as we only stayed one night. They also provide a breakfast in the morning which does get quite busy but there is enough space to make it doable. I would...

"We have stayed at the Holiday Inn several times. The hotel is across the main road from the beach, but there is a free trolly to the beach that is available. There is also a public playground for the kids next to the hotel. The breakfast is good. The pool is clean. The staff is nice. Overall it is a good hotel for a beach vacation in Hilton Head."
