"I had liver and onions for evening meal. It was over cooked as the liver was crumbling as I ate it. The bed was uncomfortable ..mattress was cheap and the bed wobbled every time you moved keeping my wife awake as I moved in the night. Sue, manager was brilliant , very attentive and polite."

"What a cracking pub. What more do you want from a place to stay than have a legendary boozer right below you. The land lady was very friendly and polite, rooms were basic but clean and perfect for my needs. They do a cracking pint downstairs too. Staying again next week for work it was that good and the prices resonable."

"Good food and drink at the pub that is separate from the accommodation. Slight problem on check in as they had given us a double room instead of a twin, despite sending an email prior to arrival requesting a twin. Staff shortages meant it was a while before the bed situation was sorted but we were in the bar by then so not really an issue. The receptionist was apologetic and keen to resolve the issue so bonus points to her."

"Great stay, friendly and helpful staff, would definitely stay again and would highly recommend"

"All fine"

"Could not stay in our room during the evening as a very noisy party was taking place downstairs. We were not prepared of the function, but staff did attempt to get the noise reduced, and offered us a complimentary drink in the bar. This however meant we could not use our room, or get an early night. A pity, as otherwise good value and good food."

"Cute lodge with friendly staff! Short walk to Sherwood Forest."

"It was fine , definitely tired and has seen better days but for the price it was perfectly reasonable and clean."

"Beautiful hotel and staff"

"Room was clean and comfortable but starting to show signs of needing attention (worn through couch covers, split pillow case) the TV didnt want to turn on and there has been a downgrade in the bathroom amenities from the baylis & harding i loved. Parking was plentiful"

"Very comfortable, responsive staff, clean and quiet room. The shower insert was a bit unpredictable but that was a minor inconvenience. Good location. Food was good and affordable."

"Room was clean and comfortable, although there was nowhere to hang coats/clothes (there was no hanging rail). The pedestrian route to the restaurant was a bit dark in places. Generally a good overall stay."

"Fantastic."

"Father and son stopover after two days of hiking during a long drive home. The Wellington Hotel was exactly what we needed — easy check‑in, no fuss, clean rooms, comfortable beds, hot showers, and a genuinely tasty breakfast that set us up for the rest of the journey. Simple, welcoming, and spot‑on. Highly recommended."

"In summary we would possibly stay again but definitely not eat there!! Lovely large room and comfortable king size bed had a good nights sleep, tea and coffee in room and shower was good however limited menu in pub (Marston’s) especially for vegetarians, we had an evening meal and breakfast both were poor quality and therefore not good value. We had booked and messaged property through Expedia to say we were bringing our dog but this message didn’t get sent to them so when we arrived their 2...

"Excellent stay, friendly staff, excellent food."
