Hutchins Lake Retreat

Charming, updated 3 bedroom, 2 bath home on Hutchins Lake. Enjoy views of the lake from almost every room in the house! The private dock and lake frontage is across the street from the front yard, in a quiet cove.

The minimum age to rent the property is 27. Parking is limited to three vehicles tandem in the driveway and carport.

Within a ten minute drive of the house are multiple wineries, orchards and the charming towns of Fennville, Douglas, and Saugatuck.

This 2 story home has an open floor plan with two living areas, two dining areas, large front patio of the living/dining room with lake view, private back deck area with outdoor dining and living areas, kitchen with all modern amenities including quartz counters and stainless steel appliances.

Hutchins Lake is a 350-acre all sports lake, with wake times limited to 11:00am to 7:00pm daily, contributing to the relaxing environment and great fishing. This home is located on a quiet, low key street with friendly neighbors and truly amazing sunrise views. Parking is limited to three vehicles tandem in the driveway and carport. You'll have access to the entire home as well as the private lake frontage and dock. We are close by and available by email, phone or text, but will otherwise stay out of your way!

After booking is confirmed, guest and host will execute a separate rental agreement. It is a standard contract that is required by my insurance company and shouldn't contain any surprises.

Peaceful get away

We really enjoyed this property. The neighborhood is peaceful, yet it is within 15-20 minutes of cities like Holland and South Haven. The lake is gorgeous, and the house is lovely. We would be happy to stay here again.

Not great for families

While the owners were very nice and accessible, this place was not what we thought it was going to be. -The grill hardly worked (1 out of 3 burners worked) -We were told it was on a quiet road, extremely busy with cars going over the speed limit - The lake bottom, while really shallow, was muck and not sandy like we were told Great for an adult only trip but would not recommend for families with kids that like yo be active. We had to drive to other beaches or towns to get their energy out. Overall pretty disappointing.

Ladies Trip

This home is CLEAN, welcoming, and was perfect for our getaway. Our party of five women felt very comfortable. It was extremely hot while we were there, and didnā€™t get the chance to sit around the fire pit. Instead, we enjoyed morning coffee looking at the beautiful lake. Michelle, the host, is extremely kind and friendly. Perfect location to visit wineries and coastal towns.

Beautiful relaxing getaway

We had a girls weekend and baby shower and it was wonderful! The host was great on communication and so friendly! We over the location, and spent our days kayaking, paddleboarding, cooking dinners in the modern kitchen and relaxing in big down comforters at night It was a wonderful quiet getaway and we will definitely be going back!

Wonderful home in a perfect location!

Our family of 6 had a wonderful time visiting this beautiful home and the area. Mike and the neighbors were very kind and welcoming. The home had everything that we needed and was so clean. Wonderful house on great inland lake near Saugatuck/Lake Michigan

My husband and I had a wonderful 5 night stay over Memorial Day weekend. The house was very nicely updated, clean and had everything we needed. The hosts were great - very communicative and friendly as well as all the neighbors on the lake. We especially enjoyed morning walks around the lake, sitting on the front patio and enjoying the beautiful lake view and kayaking around the lake. The Saugatuck / Fennville area has so much to offer - cute towns, great restaurants, breweries/wineries and beautiful Lake Michigan beaches within 15 mins. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Wow!

The fam had such a nice stay on Hutchins Lake! The house is so lovely, one of the best VRBOs we've tried. Great amount of space for our group, easy check in/out, kind owner, amazing sunrise views, house is well stocked. We made the trip to Timber Ridge (about 30 min) and did some skiing. Good kiddie ski school program and not a bad drive. Thank you for such wonderful memories!

Lake front property

We had a lovely stay on Fennville Lake. The home is lovely, clean, modern and well appointed, and worked well for our family of 6. The property owner was friendly and very quick to reply to any of my questions. The view of the lake was very pretty, and delightful to wake up to every morning.

Fabulous Stay!!!

We were a family of mom/dad, adult son/girlfriend, adult daughter, and adult daughter/boyfriend. This was our first family trip in a couple of years. The house was the perfect place for us to stay, as there was plenty of space for both togetherness as well as privacy. The bedroom situation worked well for us. Mom/Dad in master bedroom on first floor. Kids all upstairs amongst the various beds. We were all very comfortable! The first thing we noticed was how clean the home was, and how true to the photographs shown online. You always hope that "what you see is what you get" and this place is exactly as pictured. I would venture to say that it is even better!!! The home was renovated a few years ago and is both stylish and welcoming. We loved the fact that we could all fit around the dining room table for breakfast and for games at night. We also loved the fire pit table on the front porch, where we did some lunches and dinners overlooking the lake. Great place to catch some shade, as the trees out front are huge, lush and gorgeous. The lake. Oh where to start.... Clean. Warm. Peaceful. Active. We went into town a couple of times but couldn't wait to get back to the lake. We made GREAT use of the two kayaks that come with the house. They were rarely out of use. We had also brought along some floats/noodles from the dollar store, so everyone had something to float on. The dock is SO nice. Made of trex-like material, it did not get hot or have splinters. We spent a lot of time out on that dock. Half on chairs, half in the water, all having a blast. The owners of the rental were available to us all weekend, as they have a place on the lake too. Such nice people. We met a bunch of the neighbors as well. It's a very friendly community. Even got to see some of the resident eagles in flight! The sunsets on the lake are not to be missed. We walked down the lane to the public beach every evening to get the best views. Apparently the sunrises were incredible as well, but I was too busy enjoying the comfy bed to go take a look. To sum it all up-we are SO glad we rented this lovely home. We will absolutely return next summer. Our entire group of 7 agreed this was a trip to remember!

I was there for a mini gateway with friends, this place has a amazing view of the lake. Very well keep and had enough space for 6 people. Itā€™s exactly how its showed on the pictures. Mike will responded very quickly with any questions or concerns. Cant wait to return back this summer.

Loved our stay

They have done some great improvements to this property to make it a memorable stay. We had everything we needed for our two adult sons and us to have a relaxing time, especially enjoying the front patio and water. You can take great walks in the morning and evening plus nice small swimming area down the road (or go straight off the dock!). Sunrises were beautiful on the lake, and we looked forward to our morning kayak trips. We especially enjoyed the North Beach area in South Haven (25 minutes) plus the local wineries, restaurants and blueberries in and around Saugatuck (about 20 minutes but some just around the corner)...and most of all, the Tastee Treat for ice cream in Fennville! You can also rent waverunners and pontoon boats on Lake Michigan. All in all, a great stay, and we want to come back!

Super charming place!

It was a great place! Super charming area. All the neighbors are very nice! The lake is quiet. Super easy aces to everything from the house. Wish we had a boat, we just brought lots of inflatables for the kids instead and we had a blast! Would recommend to anyone!
