Short walk to beach access with partial ocean views from front deck. Family friendly home with a lift for luggage and groceries. There is a private studio on the ground level with living space, office space and a full bathroom. Enjoy the private back yard and outdoor shower. Close proximity to restaurants and local shops. Editso offers a very peaceful beach vacation with parks, marina and tons of wildlife.

Laundry is outside the house in a separate space. The studio is downstairs on a painted concrete slab (with considerable paint flaking due to moisture). The studio was extremely damp even with a dehumidifier running full time. Window air conditioning in studio is adequate but, of course, contributes to the humidity level. We could not recommend anyone staying in the studio on ground level. Upstairs was a stark contrast to the studio. With a few maintenance exceptions the upstairs was pleasant. Very good floor plan upstairs. It is ready for a considerable update all around, but the upstairs is still worth a commendation. Sparsely outfitted with linens. Drip pan under kitchen sink that had to be emptied throughout our week’s stay. Location is the one bright spot of this property. Property contact was responsive, which is always appreciated. For all the maintenance needs, location of laundry, and more, we would not consider this a desirable location for our upcoming stays on Edisto.

People need to stop complaining and keep in mind these are rental properties they arent brand new! This place was cute very open and comfortable. The lift was so helpful. If you actually take care of your own home check in and out are very simple. I would get this house or any managed by this host in the future.

Had a girls weekend and we enjoyed staying at the beach house for the most part... check in was easy and the beach house overall was a good location to a WALKING beach acess . No cart or cars ..Unfortunately we cant control the weather and it stormed the weekend we stayed . We all made the best of it but the drive way was flooded the entire stay because of a city pump pumping water towards the road Walking through 2-3 inches of water wasnt the worse part, the room downstairs had so many small brown roaches and spiders. We had to take our luggage and food and put it all upstairs so the bugs couldnt get in them . And if you plan on staying at this beach house, make sure its not going to rain . The toilet down stairs floods when it flash floods.(due to being on a septic tank)We called the property management and they had someone check out the toilet and she talked to the owners for a refund for the down stairs room which was nice .Overall the upstairs was cozy and clean, if you have breathing problems/alergies or scared of bugs dont sleep downstairs ! Me and my husband had our home sprayed after I got back due to finding a roach in my luggage .

Great Location - had a blast.

We had a great time and it was everything we expected and more. Great location, had everything we needed. The downstairs did have a smell of bug spray when we first arrived, but was gone by the second day. We would stay there again and recommend to any large family.

Dirty. I agree with another review from June that the house is in a fantastic location and has lots of potential. The property manager was very receptive. I think they need a new cleaning crew though. The floors felt sticky and none of the blankets were not clean. Sheets on one bed were all twisted and there was food wrappers and children’s toys found under the bed. Not sure if that one was even cleaned… Kitchen could have been cleaner and there were no oven mitts to use for cooking in oven. The living room furniture had either ice cream spilled on it or male excrement… yuk. We replaced the lightbulb on the 2nd floor porch. Safety bar in one bathroom was very loose. Screws were missing from one of the door hinges. We did not use the 1st floor suite as it was freezing and smelled musty. The washer & dryer were a bonus. For the amount of money we spent on renting, we really expected basic cleanliness. Disappointing. Luckily—Edisto is my favorite place to stay and the beach and locals helped us have a phenomenal time outside of our accommodations.

The “studio” is uninhabitable due to mold issues. The AC and dehumidifier were moldy and very dirty. The property manager was responsive and tried to help, but the problem is significant and the listing should not include the studio as a space for people to stay in. We were enticed by having two separate spaces, but ended up using only in the upstairs house, which was adequate, but not exceptional. The house location is fantastic, a very short walk to the beach. We also enjoyed the hammock, porch swing and rockers. The outdoor shower does not work, but there are 2 hoses for rinsing off equipment and feet. The kitchen cupboards and drawers are filthy and contain many dull knives, scratched-up non-stick pans and worn out utensils; no pot holders and only one kitchen towel. The washing machine has only hot water. I hope future vacationers don’t make the same mistake I made - not realizing that a ground-level studio in Edisto is not fit for a living space.

Great House! Not so great host!

Great house! Great location! Check-in directions were easy-peasy!Check out directions were a totally different story. :/ The VRBO directions in the app, the notebook in the kitchen, and texts from the host are not the same. The host was REALLY hard to get hold of.If you rent this house, don't expect the host to return your communications until they are mad at you for not following the 3 different sets of check-out directions that are each totally different, ugh!
