Welcome to our first class five bedroom townhouse in the prestigious Hillside District of Edinburgh. Or as you can call it — home. Self-catered luxury in the heart of the city. We’re confident there’s no better way to stay in Scotland’s breathtaking capital.

Top Hat House is a listed Georgian building designed by the famous architect, William H Playfair. We have lovingly restored this quintessential New Town property into an immaculate home for hire. It’s a blissful blend of original elegance and all the comforts of modern living.

We wanted to create so much more than a place to rest your head. Top Hat House is somewhere you can live and breathe Edinburgh in total comfort and style. With fun, vibrant interiors, and state of the art appliances throughout, you can come and go, and only ever be pleased.

The Drawing room:- The perfect setting to be together as a group or while away the evening with a good book. Delightful details are everywhere in this communal space that’s drenched in natural light from its charming tall windows. The views out over the Royal Terrace Gardens are simply stunning.
The Kitchen:- is ideal for cooking up a storm while surrounded by great company. Amenities include boiling water tap, coffee machine, drinks fridge, television

All bedrooms are equipped with hairdyers, television, kingsize beds (or twin if required), and smart lighting. All have their own ensuite with the master bedroom boasting a self clean loo and free standing bath.

Hillside Crescent
Traveling w a big family is hard. But Hillside Crescent made our trip easy. We rent a lot of homes and I highly recommend this place. It’s location and size are incredible. We loved the short walk over the park to the city center. And everything about it.

Top Hat House Stay
We absolutely loved our stay at Top Hat House. We came to Edinburgh to visit our daughter who is getting her masters at the University of Edinburgh and decided to have a large family/friends holiday at the same time. The house was well equipped and easily accommodated 8 adults comfortably. The location was convenient and an easy walk to most tourist sites. There is no shortage of good restaurants nearby and the kitchen was well enough equipped for a large roast dinner we cooked one evening. Could use a few more paper products like paper towels and napkins but that really is nitpicking. Highly recommend!

50th Birthday Celebration
The Top Hat House is in an amazing Georgian tenement building in a lovely part of Edinburgh not too far from Princes Street. The accommodation is spacious, modern and stylish; which meant we could do Edinburgh in style. Perfect to see all the wonderful things that the City of Edinburgh has to offer. Would strongly recommend it!

Exceeded our expectations!
The Top Hat was beautiful! The pictures did not do it justice! We had a group of 10 and the space was perfect! The location was ideal, we had everything we needed. Communication with the host could have been better however Jane indicated some difficulties with the vrbo app. I would highly recommend this property.

Our family stayed here for our daughters wedding . It was a lovely and spacious home to celebrate the special event. The owner , Jane, was very helpful when we contacted with a couple of queries. Would recommend it for a peaceful and elegant stay in the centre of the city.

Excellent stay
This is a great property: lots of space, great kitchen and a very good location under Carlton Hill. We were also impressed that when we raised a maintenance issue with the owner it was dealt with that day. A small quibble: the Nespresso machine had been replaced with a Lavazo that takes a different and hard to find type of capsule.

Beautiful townhouse. There was enough room for all of us (10 people). Wish we could have stayed longer. It was a little challenging to find it initially. We will be back.

Beautiful place in Edinburgh that easily accommodated our large group. So nice to have individual suites with attached bathrooms too! Very nice modern accommodations, but there are some repairs and TLC needed from a maintenance perspective - broken blinds in a few rooms, plugged shower drain in one bathroom, also some essentials need to be restocked - ran out of trash bags, the nspresso pods provided don’t fit the non nspresso machine, no basic spices (salt, pepper), we didn’t get a welcome gift in the refrigerator as promised… some little things like that that could be better from an experience perspective. Also communication with host fell off completely during our stay, previous to that was good, so not sure what happened there. Otherwise, it was a wonderful place! Would stay again
