Luxury Home with Great Views, Decks, Hot Tub, AC - 15 Min to Downtown Durango

Our 5 bedroom/3 bathroom home is the perfect base for exploring all Durango has to offer. The home features tons of amazing deck space with unmatched views of the Animas Valley along with a brand new hot tub (May 2024). The home is just 11 miles (15 minutes) from Historic Downtown Durango and 15 miles (18 minutes to Purgatory Ski Resort).

Our home features classic lodge-style architecture with vaulted ceilings, a custom rock fireplace in the main living space, and high-end finishes and furnishing throughout along with central AC, washer/dryer and WIFI.

Bed Configuration:
Master - King (TV) Main Level
2nd - King (2nd Floor)
3rd - Queen (2nd Floor)
4th - Queen (Main Level)
5th - Double and 2 Twins and TV (2nd Floor) - Note access is thru the 3rd bedroom

Note there is no access to the garage and the home is not pet friendly so please do not bring your pets.

The road is paved to the home but depending on weather conditions 4WD/AWD may be required Dec-Mar.

Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years).

Wonderful family vacation home

Beautiful home on mountainside overlooking the Animas River valley and surrounding mountains. Home accommodated 3 adult couples and 5 children for a week. Secluded location placed us away from the busy traffic of Durango but placed us 15 minutes from the center of town for shopping and catching the train to Silverton. The kids watched the trains pass every morning and afternoon. We visited Mesa Verde National Park and spent an afternoon playing golf at the public course in town. After a busy day the kids jumped in the hot tub and adults sat on the wrap around porch to watch the sunset and the moonrise. Plenty of room to park 3 vehicles even without access to the garage. More than adequate garbage receptacles, adequate clothes washing and storage space. Fantastic master bathroom and shower and beds were comfortable. Kitchen was very well equipped and good supply of paper goods, detergent and toiletries. House as clean as was the exterior surroundings. Unfortunately the attempts to cool the attic bedroom upstairs has not been effective. Even with fans on full speed the kids found it difficult sleeping. The 2 minor bathrooms are small and space constrained. TV controls in master bedroom did not work but the other TVs were operational. We were not provided a list of things to do to close up the house.

Amazing property

This property is amazing. Beautiful views, quiet location. A bonus bus the narrow gauge runs by!!! It is conveniently located between the ski area and town. It makes it easy to get either one. If you are a cyclist then trails are not far from you either.

Beautiful property but not for seniors

This house is comfortable, clean, and well appointed. The views are great. The outdoor living spaces are really nice. The Durango-Silverton railroad going by in late mornings and early evening were a bonus for us and fun to watch. Overall we enjoyed this property once we ironed out a few wrinkles. We are young seniors but have 2 people in our group with vision problems. The step-down living room was a surprise as it was not in the property description. The wooden steps are hard to see if one is not paying attention. We fixed the problem by putting painters tape on the steps so those with vision issues could see them. The 2 bedrooms with King beds were well appointed and comfortable. The upstairs tub-shower is slippery. Those sleeping upstairs opted to use the downstairs hall bathroom/shower instead. The master bathroom and shower are a little slippery, too. Definitely use the bath mats! The downstairs bedroom with a queen bed is a converted office so no closet in the room, but there is a hall closet and bathroom/shower across the hall. The upstairs bedroom with the queen bed is not well ventilated. Fans are available in the room. No screen on the window and no shade on the window that does not open above the bed so the sun shines in brightly and makes the room hot. We used paper bags and painters tape to fashion a sunscreen to keep the bright light and heat to a minimum. The bonus bedroom room has no windows at all so ventilation is an issue.

Great property

Upon arrival, ac not working. Tech arrived within an hour, left to get a part, had us working in great time. Very responsive service group. Property was well appointed, clean, and comfortable. Nice decks with plenty of chairs. Close enough to the tracks to see the trains. This is a great property.

Beautiful views

We enjoyed our stay at the property overall. The views are amazing, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the property was clean. The property management were communicative during our stay. Unfortunately, we didn’t have water for 3 days from the hours of 8:30-12:30 on two days and the last day 8am-2pm. Property management sent someone to the house after we inquired about the water. He told us the water got turned off due to a remodel being done in the neighborhood. It turned out to be a city upgrade issue so it was confusing there wasn’t a heads up. We weren’t able to shower, use the bathroom etc and had a full house. I know it isn’t the property to blame but the transparency of the issue seemed off and paying full price for a place we couldn’t use for a total of 14 hours was frustrating. The other comment is the listing states central air but the two bedrooms plus large closet (listed as a bedroom) upstairs do not have vents for air. The screen was missing on one of the windows so it was rather hot for the guests staying upstairs in one of the bedrooms. They do have ceiling and box fans which helps. The downstairs “bedroom” doesn’t have a closet in it nor a place for the guests to store their clothes within the room. The listing should be more accurately listed as a 3 bedroom with additional sleeping areas.

Family and Friend Vacation

We traveled with 2 families and my parents. Kids ranging in age from 9 months to 15. We had plenty of space for everyone. The deck is amazing and proximity to Durango activites would be hard to beat! 1 bedroom lacks space for clothes storage and the upstairs gets warm in the summer, but we managed. Other than that, no complaints and amazing house!!

Great house! Amazing Views! The only issue is there needs to be blackout curtains added to each bedroom. We woke up at 5:30am every morning because the master triangle window doesn't have a shade.

Beautiful Mountain Home

We had a family vacation with our adult children and spouses. The home was beautiful and clean with everything we needed. The drive from the house to Durango and most of our summer activities was about 20-25 minutes. The drive to Purgatory Resort was only 5 minutes.

Great House and Property...just lots of dog hair!

The house and property has amazing views! Overall we were satisfied with the stay! The only reason I am giving 4 stars is due to the crazy amount of dog hair inside the house! It was all over our clothes and ski gear when we left the house each day. One person in our party was allergic to dogs, so that was a quite frustrating. The property details state: "the home is not pet friendly so please do not bring your pets." So you would assume from that statement you would not be dealing with significant amounts of dog hair. Additionally, the cleaning crew was still in the house finishing up at 4:30pm when we checked in (check in was 4pm). Which was also a bit frustrating. We had high expectations for how much we spent on the house during the week, overall cleanliness and timely check in should never be an issue. Otherwise the property was really solid!

Wonderful home!

My family (ages 64-2) rented this home for a week long vacation and we were all more than satisfied. The views are amazing, home was clean, essentials (plus some) were provided, and hot tub was hot upon arrival. Communication was top notch and the management team was very accommodating. The location is perfect as it’s not in town but not too far out of town. You’ll get the watch the train go by most mornings/evening too! We will definitely be back!

Amazing Views

We loved this house! There was plenty of room to spread out both inside and out and it had all the comforts of home. The hands down crowd favorite was the hot tub on the back deck overlooking the mountains, absolutely stunning views.

This home was very relaxing and comfortable with beautiful views. The location was perfect and the train to Silverton was exciting for us in the mornings and evenings as they passed by down the hill. We stayed in the hot tub longer than we ever have, just because of the views/quietness and coolness of evenings. Highly recommend this place for relaxation and yet close enough to town for excitement.

Fantastic views

We enjoyed staying here for two reasons, it’s about 10 mins north of town and the views from the back porch are amazing. The roadway noise is present but it didn’t bother us.

What a beautiful home

Gorgeous home with a fabulous view

We booked this for the view and were blown away by the actual home itself. Close to Durango (the historic train comes within 30’ of the property!), very well appointed, lots of extra touches and space for everyone in our group. The rental computer was easy to work with and gave us personalized attention. Again… the views alone are spectacular and the home is homey and has everything you need.
