"Amazingly large and typically quaint old coaching inn under new and energetic management. We stayed because of proximity to Althorp House. Stand out feature is the food at typical pub prices but far from typical. It was superb and makes it a destination in itself. Such a pleasant change to eat real home cooking and not some chilled and reheated offering.
Full English breakfast included in room rate and also superb. "
"I stayed for one night whilst travelling for a mixture of business and pleasure. It had been a long hot day so it was a pleasure to step into the cool of this lovely old inn. The welcome was warm and friendly and in fact I think the friendliness of the staff is my standout reason to stay. "What a lovely little find. 5 mins off the M1, but set in the grounds of an old vicarage and very quiet and tranquil.
Lovely welcome from the owners, shown my room which was lovely and spotless. Shared kitchen area had everything, cooker, fridge, coffee machine… basically everything you need.
You can use the garden area which had seating and tables which was lovely just to listen to the peace and quiet in the sunshine.

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, we stayed here at the same time last year, and this year did not disappoint. Friendly, helpful staff, throughout the hotel. Good breakfast and special requests delivered quickly. Parking is good.
All rooms well supplied with tea,coffee etc . Good eco friendly towel and cleaning options.
We also saw staff deal very politely and discreetly with a complaint from another customer.
