"Lovely hotel,although didn't use it theres a pool and other amenities, breakfast spot on very good choice"
"Amazingly large and typically quaint old coaching inn under new and energetic management. We stayed because of proximity to Althorp House. Stand out feature is the food at typical pub prices but far from typical. It was superb and makes it a destination in itself. Such a pleasant change to eat real home cooking and not some chilled and reheated offering.
Full English breakfast included in room rate and also superb. "

Cafe across road all priced at student discount free parking.
Bar usually close 2200 but if event on it 0100 we had euro blues festival.

"Regular visitor. Always clean, friendly staff, lovely rooms and great food. Only minor criticism would be that there is typically only one staff member on breakfast/check-out which can mean a few minutes waiting, but other than that, an excellent place to stay !"

"I stayed for one night whilst travelling for a mixture of business and pleasure. It had been a long hot day so it was a pleasure to step into the cool of this lovely old inn. The welcome was warm and friendly and in fact I think the friendliness of the staff is my standout reason to stay. The room was simply furnished but spacious and comfortable and importantly cool with a fan provided. I ate dinner and breakfast there both were tasty and served with a smile and friendly chat. Only down side was there was no lift. Stairs a little steep - I travelled with my mum who is in her 80’s and she found the stairs a little hard. "

It was lovely and quiet at night & breakfast in the coffee bar was fresh and delicious. It’s a great base for visiting local attractions."
"Nice mid-range hotel with excellent spa (best treatments we’ve had, at very fair price, though no pool). Excellent dinner in restaurant & good breakfast. Our room was on 3rd floor and, being an old building, there’s no lift. Room was ok, though a ‘standard’ double, not a queen / king. There’s no air-con, but a good floor standing fan. Good sized bathroom with large shower. We will certainly return here as the spa & food are so good. "
