"Recently thoroughly enjoyed a two night stay at The Old Vicarage, having visited in Sept 2025, I immediately booked again for Feb 2026. Once again the location was idyllic, our room and shared kitchen were excellent. The owners Gerry & Patricia were fabulous hosts, the dogs Frank & Elsa were very welcoming and the kitten Jennifer was lovely. "The lodge was quite good in terms of cleanliness,environment,and amenities in the room was good.The staff{Amand)was quite good,respectful and always attended to my needs.My only concerns during my three days stay was the type of people that stays in the hotel.In my second night stay,i had some policemen knocking furiously on the door next to me.This was exactly 03.15am.I couldnt get back to sleep after all the noise and shouting. "Rooms very nice, breakfast starting at 8am on a Sunday is too late we had to miss it which was a shame. Also not able to book a late check out which again was a little disappointing."

"The snacks in the reception are ALL high in sugar. To use the hairdryer it needs to be pressed down at all times which is very frustrating. A simple on and off switch much more practical and makes it easier to use for people with joint issues. Shampoo is kindly supplied maybe it would be possible to supply a little conditioner!? The weather was exceptionally cold during our stay, and unfortunately the small heater wasn’t quite enough to keep the room comfortably warm."

"Character room, good size with everything you would need. There were a few things that needed refreshing but it was all fine for a short stay. The breakfast was really good, hot and well presented with good coffee/tea. Good value for money and good location for many places to visit."
