We paid approximately 4,000 for a week at this property. While the location is great, within walking distance of the beach, and the decks and pool were enjoyed by my family, our stay was impacted by several significant issues.The main reason I rented this house was the upstairs bathroom next to the kitchen because I am disabled and wanted to avoid using the stairs frequently. Unfortunately, that bathroom had a serious drainage problem and became unusable for the toilet, sinks, and shower. Despite multiple maintenance visits, the issue was never fixed during our stay.There were also stained carpets, a lamp bulb that exploded when plugged in, nearly shocking my son-in-law, and an unexpected pool service visit while my granddaughters were swimming in the private pool. I understand pool maintenance is necessary, but we were never notified anyone would be entering the property, nor did the worker knock before accessing the pool area.The host communicated with us but never accepted responsibility for these issues. When I contacted VRBO, the host claimed we had caused the bathroom problem by flushing something down the drain, which was untrue. VRBO ultimately agreed some compensation was warranted and provided a small refund, but the host refused to offer any compensation despite the bathroom remaining unusable for our entire stay.Problems happen, but accountability matters. For the price paid, I expected better maintenance, communication, and resolution of issues.
