Summary:
This charmingly renovated 100-year-old home is just 5 minutes from downtown Chattanooga. It comfortably sleeps up to 8 people and shares a resort-style pool and patio with two other homes. Please note that the pool is a shared space, and parties are prohibited.
The Space:
The Blue House is part of Wauhatchie Woodlands, a collection of quaint, tiny-home, rustic-comfort log cabins on a 14-acre wooded property surrounded by National Park land. The property is owned and operated by Timberroot, a small, family-owned business that specializes in creating rustic spaces that allow you to relax, recharge, and reconnect with nature.
This natural setting is nested less than a mile from the city, with quick access to downtown Chattanooga, Ruby Falls, Lookout Mountain, and the surrounding area.
We've lovingly updated this historic home while retaining all of its original character. An open floorplan and an abundance of windows make for a bright, airy space, with beautiful forest views on all sides. The high plank ceilings enhance the space and make bunk beds cozy and very accommodating.
The main room features a galley kitchen, dining room, and living area with Smart TV. A stained dining deck off of the kitchen offers outdoor dining space for six and a charcoal grill (charcoal not include). Behind the home is an intimate outdoor living space with a cushioned sectional sofa and the large private Hot Tub.
The main bedroom features a king bed, Smart TV, and ensuite bathroom. The bunk room has one full and three twin beds. Parents will love the privacy of the main suite and can easily sleep up to five kids in the bunk room.
The Blue House is in a compound with two other homes, the May Family Home and Skyuka Chalet. The homes share a stunning, heated resort-style pool with an expansive flagstone patio. On the patio, you'll find lounge seating, an outdoor fireplace, and an outdoor kitchen with a covered dining pavilion.
The pool is closed during winter, typically from October to March.
The ground floor of the Chalet serves as the poolhouse for all three properties. Guests have access to a shared washer and dryer, a workout room, poolside showers, and toilets.
The Blue House is more than just a house; it's a true forested resort just a tiny hop from downtown Chattanooga.
Chattanooga is a city known for its railroads. There are active train tracks that border the property to the north and I-24 is about half a mile away. Please note that light sleepers may be affected by the ambient city and train noise. Each cabin has been equipped with a white noise machine to help minimize any disturbance.
Pack' n Play Travel cribs are available upon request.
