"We stayed in the Cally Palace hotel many years ago when it was a luxurious and special place to stay. Unfortunately it is now in a state of disrepair both externally and internally. The bedrooms rooms badly need to be updated from their 1970/80s wallpaper and furniture. The lampshade in our bedroom , number 54, had part of the “glass” missing, a cracked wash hand basin and the carpet threadbare in places. The room itself was a great size but so uncared for. "Cottage was clean cosy and comfortable. It is about 15 mins drive to castle douglas. Owners live next door so easy to contact with minor issues. We were familiar with local area as visited frequently before."
