Too cold to stay in winter
Sure in summer it's great. It's very old, very quirky, lots of steep stairs, but in winter ther is no way of heating the place apart from small electric fan heaters and two small carry around electric radiators and being a stone built village house it's freezing. The owner does warn it takes a while to heat up and apologised that no one had put any heating, such as it is ,on, but in our opinion it shouldn't be let in winter. The communication with the owners in USA was fine and they were as helpful as could be. We did get the log burner in the kitchen going but it only heats the kitchen nowhere else and being very old the damper doesn't work so wood burns very quickly. We are being honest without being too negative and I'm sure in summer would be great. We had two solid days or rain when arrived with the river outside the window rising quickly.....that was fun!!!
