"We didn't stay at the place reserved and got sent to a back up place right before check in. It was a strange back alley entrance with standing water and rickety steps up to the unit but confusion over which unit was ours. Once we figured it out, it was challenging to get the door to unlock and lock with the mechanism not quite lining up without pushing and pulling the door to get it just right. The toilet off one bedroom required taking the tank cover off to make it flush and to make it stop...

"Actually I end up not staying a night of the scheduled 3 nights. I tried to get s refund but it seems the modus operande is to exhaust your patience and time so as to make you give up your claim. First, the host failed to provide any instruction as to check in, how to get the keys, and most important is that after 10PM, nobody’s there to attend to you! The location provides great access to downtown St. Charles, with many restaurants and shops along Historic Main Street. Having a private single-car garage in the back was very convenient. Parking can be a little challenging if you have more than one vehicle, but it is manageable. The side garage door also takes a little maneuvering to lock and unlock from the outside, but it works. "Pros: Location! Walking distance to cafes, bars, stores, the farmers market, etc. The beds are super comfortable and the kitchen is well appointed and spacious. FYI - the small bedroom pictured on the main floor is right above a gym. Our guests in that room could definitely hear music and people working out, especially early in the morning.
