"What a find this place was. We needed somewhere to stay and shelter from Storm Dave rather than risk the campervan. We were lucky enough to find the family room at the String of Horses. Amazing food in the pub, amazing and super friendly staff, especially the lady who sorted out brownie pieces for my ten year old rather than the Sundae dessert version. "Quirky room, room 3 with a low ceiling. Staff obviously mindful of the hot weather placed a fan in the room, really appreciated, great cooked breakfast in the morning and very good value for what we needed. We did have 1 very minor issue which we passed on, so hopefully that can be addressed for the future. Overall a resnable stay and adequate for or needs, the cooked breakfast stood out as the USP."

"Had a wonderful 2 night stay at the Horse & Farrier. Room was excellent with great facilities , Comfy bed , iron and ironing board , hairdryer and lovely big shower. full size fridge and wine glasses and a sink complete with fairy liquid, great if wanting to eat in as there was also knives and forks in a drawer. We had a meal on the second night which was really good. The staff were amazing ,really friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. There is a bus stop directly outside and buses...
