Mr. Mike's directions to the cabin was very clear. We had everything we needed for a weeks stay! Firewood was plentiful! Property was beautiful and private. Hearing the creek was so relaxing! Would love to go back again!!

Location was amazing and the cabin was outstanding. Lots of games and hiking trail within the rental area. Also liked the dual thermostat for upstairs and downstairs bedrooms. Mike was very accommodating and responsive. Overall 10/10 and would recommend.

This home is definitely one of my favorites! Secluded, comfortable and clean. The roads to get to the house are a bit nerve wracking, particularly where some major washout occurred, but they’re working hard to fix them. We played ping pong and pool, enjoyed the fire pit, and saw so much wildlife, including a black bear we named Josh. Definitely will be returning!

Late Spring family trip

My husband, two college aged sons, and I spent a week in this peaceful cabin. The location was perfect. The cabin is close enough to the town of Black Mountain to go out to a nice restaurant or shop but was secluded enough to have peaceful mountain cabin experience. I can’t wait to visit again.

Amazing Cabins and Amazing People

The property is amazing. Our stay happened to be during a natural disaster. The hosts Mike and Beverly did everything they could to ensure we were comfortable and safe at the expense of their own comfort.

Weekend getaway

We gave up a mountain view for a creek side property and we have no regrets. The sound of the flowing creek created a peaceful setting. The house was very clean and well furnished. We felt at home. There were plenty of games to keep us occupied. This is a great place for couples or families.

More than I expected

I have stayed at alot of VRBO cabins throughout NC. There are only 2 that I can say that I will always come back to and this is 1 of the 2. Way off the beaten path, but not to far from essentiuals from town you have this beautiful cabin sitting next to a creek on a perfect piece of property. Alot has gone into in prepping this cabin and the instructions on how to use things are pretty clear. Honestly you really do not have to leave the cabin except for food. Hiking,relaxing,corn-hole, pool, ping pong, and just the presence of peace.There were talks about the roads being steep and if it rained or snowed you might need a 4WD. I have a 4WD so it did not affect me, but I saw a few 2WD in the area driving up and they had no issues. Of course thats without the snow or a heavy rainfall. This cabin is a strong10.

Great cabin with seclusion and creek

We really enjoyed our stay here with our kids & dog. Loved the creek and the land. Just disappointed that listing said “queen bed” with 2 kings only to find 2 kings and a sleeper sofa. My son was sad about not having his own bed. Also the checkout process of having to wash & dry the towels we felt was a little much, as I’ve stayed at a lot of cabins that didn’t require this, especially with having to check out at 10am. Just a few games but we had a great time playing ping-pong. Road is very rough, though overall it was a nice cabin. Beds were amazingly comfortable!

Remote and refreshing

Relaxing time and vacation

This vacation rental is great and the owner is fantastic. I ran into to him on several occasions and had conversations on the area, things to do, and places to eat. If you want to get away and still be fairly close to a lot of cool things to do, this is the place!!! This was my second stay there and I will be back!

Black Mountain getaway

The home and grounds were beautiful. The home had everything we needed to enjoy cooking, ping-pong, hot tub, hiking and the fire. The road in was a little rough, but overall a great spot. The town of Black Mountain was super cute and convenient.

Loved everything!

This was an amazing house and absolutely loved the creek running beside the house!! I could have stayed out there. The town of Black Mountain was awesome, loved the shopping and how friendly everyone was! Make sure you eat at Trail Head, food was great! We will be back 😄

Wonderful Property in a Secluded Beautiful Setting

The property lives up to the listing. We enjoyed all of the indoor amenities over our rainy weekend stay. It was perfect peaceful retreat from city life. The fireplace, gaming tables and hot tub added to the cozy ski resort feel that we love. It's about a 25 minute drive to downtown Ashville so venturing out to explore all of the restaurants and shops is convenient too. There were hiking trails nearby that we'll explore the next time too. Mike was a very responsive host who answered the few questions we had quickly; most everything we needed was in the thorough email communications provided ahead of time. I highly recommend this cabin and will definitely return with more friends!

Great stay with our teens and dogs

We visit Black Mountain every year and our teen boys said this is the best place we’ve ever stayed. They played a lot of pool, relaxed in the hot tub and spent hours in the creek with our dogs. I could have spent the entire weekend on the porch, just listening to the creek. The cabin is beautiful and very clean. We appreciated the directional signs on the drive to and from the property. A wonderful, relaxing getaway!

Great stay in Black Mountain!!

The cabin is fantastic only surpassed by the setting!! We look for a vacation for our dogs each year, preferably near water for them to play in; this was PERFECT!!! The cabin itself is very comfortable, well laid and appointed very nicely; above most other rentals we've stayed in the past. The kitchen had everything you need including, a rental rarity, SHARP KNIVES!!! I cook quite a bit when on vacation so this is especially important to me and was a nice bonus! All in all, a great stay and I would expect we'll be back soon and often!

It does not get better than this!!!!

I mean… what more could we possibly need on our two week mountain retreat?! From the most communicative and welcoming host, to a ideal property location, to the picturesque creek, grounds and cabin, Hideaway at Highrock literally had it all! This listing is situated close to downtown Black Mountain (which as first timers, we’d also rate 5 stars) but just far enough away that you feel like you’re in your own private oasis. Grocery stores, boutique coffee shops, restaurants, breweries, BBQ, you name it - Black Mountain has it. The home is equipped with all of the essentials which we were so appreciative of our hosts for arranging. We had lots of fun on the foosball tables, playing ping pong and even pool. We cuddled up on the couches for movie nights and even roasted marshmallows over the fire pit. We played in the creek and the kiddos had a blast searching for crawfish and salamanders. Our dog loved it too!! We played a game of horseshoes and even hung around at dusk to watch the fireflies flutter around the yard. This property and all that came with it made it really hard to leave at the end of our stay. We’re already talking about our next trip! Mike, it’s evident that you’ve put your heart and soul into this property. Thanks for sharing it with us :)

Black Mountain

Hands down this was the most beautiful property that we’ve stayed in yet. We’ve rented many cabins, but this cabin is a piece of paradise. It rained everyday of our trip so we missed out on hiking to the pond, however, the horseshoes, creek, and pool table provided plenty of good old-fashioned family fun and togetherness. Thank you for sharing your home with our family. We look forward to staying again in the near future. God bless you and your family.
