DETAILS: Tucked among the towering evergreens, Rising Bull Lodge is a Big Sky home with 4 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, sleeping 13. Adventure and fun are never far in Big Sky, home to Big Sky Resort, where guests can ski, bike, hike, and explore the vast beauty of Lone Mountain or shop and dine at Mountain Village. Guests will love relaxing in the private hot tub or curling up beside the 2 gas fireplaces in this luxury 2-story homeā€”only 5 minutes from Mountain Village Base Area.

Sunlight beams through the soaring picture windows, highlighting the cathedral ceiling and exposed log trusses in the main level great room as guests enter. After a day of exploring the mountain, sink into the leather sofas in front of the stacked-stone fireplace and warm up by the flickering flames. Cooking is a delightful venture with high-end appliances, stone tile floors, and a picturesque view in the kitchen. Cubbies and hooks in the adjacent laundry room offer convenient storage for Winter gear. The traditional wood dining table seats 8, with 3 more seats at the bar. Out the sliding glass door, find a grill and revel in a tranquil soak in the private hot tub overlooking the snow-capped mountain. When itā€™s time to retire for the night, the primary bedroom is on this floor and has a king bed, private bathroom, and balcony access.

On the ground floor are 3 guest bedrooms and a secondary living space. The first 2 guest bedrooms each have a king bed and private bathroom, and the third guest bedroom has a queen bed. Ideal for teens or children, the additional living space includes a sectional, gas fireplace, 53ā€ TV, and a bunk area with 1 twin-over-twin bunk bed and 1 full-over-full bunk bed with a trundle bed.

Great house

Excellent property, but not ski in.

Beautiful property and excellent management service. Quality bedding and towels. Well equipped kitchen. Every bedroom had a humidifier. Very comfortable living room with great views. Large hot tub with beautiful views. Management company was very responsive to clearing a clogged sink (our fault) and replacing a broken humidifier. They also cleared the driveway and decking when it snowed. The bunk room is on the lower level is in a shared space and adjacent to a hallway, so it is not private. One of the private bedrooms on the lower level is tiny. The property is advertised as ski in/out, but it's not really ski in. To get back to the house you need to take long flat, and sometimes uphill, cat tracks requiring lots of hard poling ("doable" for skiers but would be a "suckfest" for snowboarders), or alternatively walking uphill about 100 m from Otter lift. Either way, it's a strenuous trek to get back to the house from the slopes. Snowboarders would have to walk up from Otter lift.

Comfortable family stay

The house offered a comfortable space for our family trip. It was clean and well equipped with supplies in the kitchen and fun games in the living room. We had a toddler with us and it provided many supplies for this age too. Over all we had a fun and happy time in this house. The location is very scenic and it took us 1 hrs and 15 min to get to Yellowstone National Park.

Beautiful view

Great location and view! Lovely mornings watching the sun rise reflect off lone peak. Stayed here with 10 adults total for a ski trip. Hot tub was great. Would recommend 4WD for the driveway if there is heavy snow!

Misleading listing!!!

I canā€™t stress this enough, in no way shape or form is the property ā€œSki Inā€, it should not be listed as such, and regardless of their description of the ski in process in the listing, it is still horribly misleading. My group, who are all quite physically fit adults, had trouble with the climb up the hill from the bottom of the White Otter lift. It is steep, almost impossible to hike in ski boots, and flat out unreasonable to be listed as such. The rest of the house was fine, itā€™s a decent place. Downstairs fireplace doesnā€™t work. Bunk beds downstairs are in what appears to be designed as a living room w mud room style lockers built into one of the walls. Itā€™s fine if youā€™re trying to cram as many people in the place as possible, but this isnā€™t a bedroom and renters shouldnā€™t be anticipating such. Iā€™d say itā€™s fine for kids, adults wouldnā€™t be happy. Binder in the home says people will come plow / remove snow from driveway and decks if thereā€™s any significant accumulation. It snowed three days while we were there, no one ever came for this service. The driveway was a bit difficult, without a 4 wheel drive suv it wouldā€™ve been impossible. Several inches of snow on porch and on hot tub cover. Manageable, but not the service that was stated. In short, a premium price was paid for this rental because of ski in ski out and it did not deliver. Anyone with young children wouldā€™ve had a mess on their hands. Simply put, there are true ski in ski out homes available for this price, this isnā€™t one of them.

Family Christmas

My family rented this beautiful home for the week of Christmas and it was a great experience! There were 4 couples and one baby, we all fit very comfortably in the house. Having stayed at many ski houses over the years, this by far was the most well stocked kitchen and home we have experienced. The views from the house were stunning, plenty of space for ski gear. While definitely ski out, the ski in was a little bit of a challenge. Quite a big hill to hike up, but that is noted in the guest handbook so we had a heads up. Over all, we would recommend this rental to all!!

Great Mountain House

The house is very comfortable for 2 families. The location is great. The ski out is very easy at the top of the driveway, the ski in a workout but doable. The ski in would be tough if you had little kids that needed their skis carried. You have to take skis off and walk to get back to the house. Loved that the house seemed to be well stocked in the kitchen and everything else. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and this house!

Beautiful views!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this beautiful and comfortable home. Itā€™s located in a great spot with views of Big Sky and Lone Mountain. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. The owner / manager was very responsive. I gave 4 stars for cleanliness due to a couple of the downstairs showers were not very clean when we arrived. We will definitely return.

Comfortable home close to lifts and hiking trails

comfortable and well equipped home close to lifts and hiking trails suitable for 3 families with children - great space for hanging out after activities on the main floor and downstairs. The house is ski out but on the way back you have to hike up a steep hill - the first day we were dying but at the end of the stay we were able to hike it up without much problem - 5 days of hiking builds your strength.

Property had great ski out trail but really shouldn't be called ski in unless you like to climb large hill with ski/snow board. Also Hot tub wasn't working for a while and homeowner should have disclosed this - after hiking up to ski in - really could have used hot tub.

Stunning View

This property was stunning with a well appointed kitchen. It met all our needs. They even had humidifies in the bedrooms, which was very helpful for all of us. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub after a day on the slopes. The only concern was the ski in/out. While the ski out was very easy. We tried the ski In 3 times and each time had to have someone come find us. Maybe some photos added to the book might help. We found it much easier to just park at Big Sky resort and use their shuttle system.

Great vacation

There were 10 of usā€¦ plenty of roomā€¦ fully stockedā€¦ incredible views!!! Porter, the property manager, went above and beyond to help us out. We got stuck going in (make sure you have 4 wheel drive)ā€¦ he pulled us out and also took us to the grocery store the first night!!! The hill walking back up is no joke after a day of skiingā€¦ but very doable. Would definitely stay here again.
