This expansive home features 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, spread across three levels. On the lower level, you'll find 1 bedroom along with a fun and interactive bunk room featuring a foosball tableā€”perfect for kids or anyone looking to enjoy a little friendly competition. On the main level, there are 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, as well as an impressive, open-concept living area with soaring high ceilings. Two adjoining living rooms are centered around a large shared gas fireplace, providing a cozy spot to relax after a day of adventure. The kitchen features a large, wrap-around counter/bar, perfect for casual dining or entertaining, and the dining area offers ample space for larger gatherings.

For ultimate relaxation, the main level also includes a dedicated indoor hot tub and sauna, both tucked away in a private porch area at the back of the home. Please note that the hot tub is available December 1 through April 1 only. Step outside onto the spacious wraparound deck, which offers sweeping views of the surrounding landscape and plenty of space for lounging, dining, or enjoying the outdoors.

The vacation home is equipped with modern conveniences such as Wi-Fi throughout, access to 7 Smart TVs providing streaming services, ensuring you stay connected during your stay. Slope access is a major highlight, with direct access to Lift #1 along the Alpen Trail, and additional access to Lifts #2 & #3 along the Flintlock Trail, making it the perfect location for winter sports enthusiasts.

Bear Necessities is a luxurious retreat designed for those who appreciate fine accommodations, beautiful surroundings, and the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. A 3-night minimum stay is required, ensuring you have plenty of time to enjoy everything this extraordinary vacation home has to offer.

Ski weekend with friends

Overall this property met our needs for a ski weekend with 5 couples. It is very spacious as described and the hot tub and sauna were awesome after a day of skiing and snowshoeing. One disappointment was being told upon arrival the dishwasher was broken with a new one coming the next week. We ended up buying paper plates to avoid doing all the dishes by hand. The location was awesome being a ski in ski out. The house and furnishings looked a little tired for the rental cost.

Our group of 4 families had a wonderful time. The place is well stocked. We very much enjoyed the huge deck and the fire pit. There are some great hikes to waterfalls nearby. Huge kitchen to cook and hang out with and plenty of room elsewhere.

Grandma's 60th Birthday party

Great for large family gathering. The grandkids loved the outside space. The property lived up to expectations. Very well equipped. Had everything we needed, including paper towels and toilet paper, soap, dishwasher soap. On our last night, the kids were asking if we could come back next year.

Excellent property, private and in winter ski in and out. Perfect for long walks and easy hikes. Kitchen is well stocked for maximum number of guests. Check-in staff very friendly and helpful. We canā€™t wait to return soon.

Cousins Weekend

We traveled 8 hours from downstate to meet our family in the area. We were able to host our family Saturday and Sunday from the area, had plenty of room to feed and sit everyone. Had a great firepit to sit around. Had a wonderful neighbor just across the way that actually transported our 86 year old aunt across so she would not have to do any stairs into the cabin. It was wonderful to be able to interact with our cousins. There was enough room to play games with the kids outdoors. Everyone enjoyed themselves. The cousins in the area thought the place was beautiful and even inquired about renting it themselves for their immediate family. Thank you for a wonderful experience. We had a minor issue with one of bathrooms, called the office and within a half hour they had sent someone over to check out the problem.

Problem with door code..key never worked

Dirty..dead bugs on window sills, floors. Black hair on bathroom floor. Dust on all shelves. Cookie sheet and casserole pans sticky and drain pan dirty. Grill was totally unusable and our intent was to grill burgers. Only TV that worked per directions was in living room Floor in downstairs bathroom? Caused family members to be BLACK...more than once! I feel sorry for the owners of the property as it appears management needs to do a better job. The cabin itself is big and nicely decorated but the dirtiness ruined it for all of us

SAM REUNION

We enjoyed everything about our stay. The only thing that could have been better, is if in the welcome book, they would have had more information about Hurley, Wi; and its abundant World Class Gentlmans establishments and bars. There was such a detailed list of recreation and dining experiences for MI, but nothing about the night life in Hurley! Next time we would appreciate it, if you could do alittle bit more detective work on our behalf (and future guests of course). Then we don't have to waste our nights drinking ourselves into oblivion, all while not knowing that with a simple review, my new ex-wife might have been just next door, and I never knew it. You could have helped make a romance happen with a small review section of the ladies of the night from Hurley WI! That why my review for your property is only a 4.827 stars.

Wonderful Ski weekend

I stayed at Bear Necessities with my significant other and my grown kids. There was 8 of us. We had a blast! The place was very spacious, lots of lounge space and plenty of dining space. The kitchen was full stocked. Loved it!

Average at best, definitely not all seasons

The location and ammenities for this property is ideal for winters/skiing only. I would definitely not recommend it for summer/early fall. The managementā€™s communication was poor. I contacted via phone and text during the stay but there was no response. The place is clean and well maintained, but can use some upgrades to appliances, air and vent systems make it more covenient for guests.

Great house - bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean. Great kitchen - all kinds of plates, glasses, silverware and tools. Only concern was the water was very hot. I let the lodge know when we left and they were going to have their maintenance group look into it.
