Designed for comfort and connection, Mariposa Moon Cottage welcomes up to six guests with an inviting open floor plan that makes gathering easy. The fully equipped kitchen is ready for home-cooked meals, whether you`re flipping pancakes in the morning or grilling on the propane BBQ out on the deck. And that deck? It’s big, breezy, and just waiting for you to sit back with a drink in hand.



Inside, you’ll find three cozy bedrooms:

Great time with family!

We had a wonderful time with our family. The cottage is beautifully furnished. The deck is nice. Our grandkids really enjoyed the creek. I'm disabled, ride a scooter for distance and couldn't get down to the creek - the one picture I thought showed grass next to the water, but it was once you got down the drop off to the creek. Also, the front door step is high and there's no railing. I used the deck entrance. I did miss having the satellite dish channels available in master bedroom (can only watch a dvd), Still we enjoyed our stay.

We Love Summerfield Cottage

Summerfield Cottage is going to be our go to for short getaways with friends. The only problem we have had the past 2 times is getting the televisions to work. Maybe more detailed directions and fewer remotes would help for the main tv and expand the dish connections into the bedrooms for those who like to go to sleep with the tv. Just a thought. Won't keep us from coming back but would enhance our nighttime experience. See you next year!

Peaceful Retreat

My family stayed at the Summerfield Cottage for a "girls" weekend retreat and visit to Berkeley Springs. Overall, we had a lovely stay. The house was relatively clean, comfortable and quiet. Although our stay was during the winter, I can imagine the property is gorgeous in the warmer months with the stream meandering past. The only issues we encountered: The step up to the front door (which is constructed of one large stone) is very difficult for anyone with balance or mobility issues. It was a challenge getting in/out of the house for a couple of us. The bathrooms would benefit from new toilet seats to replace the old ones which are very noticeably stained. Water tastes strongly metallic (probably from excess iron) and is not drinkable. Although I noticed there is a whole house water filter/softener, a reverse osmosis filter on the kitchen sink would make that tap useable. Although I cannot comment on the other bedrooms, the mattress in the master bedroom is old and uncomfortable. Just offering these few suggestions to make future guests' stays more pleasant and encourage repeat visits. Overall, our stay was enjoyable, and we would consider returning to the cottage.

Perfect weekend

This property was perfect for a girlfriend get away. We enjoyed the beautiful views on the well furnished deck. The kitchen was well equipped and spacious. Would highly recommend.

Private, scenic home with everything we needed for weekend trip

This home is in a beautiful, quiet area outside downtown Berkley Springs. Large deck and porch area offer covered and uncovered seating, yard with plenty of space, two firepits (we did not use but noticed they were there) and lovely creek behind the home make for a relaxing, peaceful retreat! Inside, three nicely-sized bedrooms, two bathrooms and spacious kitchen/dining area. Updated kitchen is well-equipped with most cooking utensils/tools one would need to create meals, though we mostly ate in town. Living room offers comfy couches and chairs with plenty of movies and options for watching TV. Downtown Berkley Springs is just a short drive (once you get used to it, it's not that far, but the first trip in/out of downtown may seem long). Berkley Springs offers artsy, interesting shopping and dining. The town does seem to shut down promptly at 9:00 p.m. but by then we were ready to retire to the house anyway. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider booking here again! Thank you! **A few things that don't need to be included in the review, but wanted to mention: - runners/rugs are curling up at ends and pose tripping hazard - front step/boulder might be tripping hazard for kids/older people. It provides a neat aesthetic, but not ideal when carrying luggage and groceries in/out of house - house could really use a deep clean at end of busy season (areas in need are: showers/tubs need scrubbed thoroughly, toilets really need scrubbed, toilet seats need tightened, vacuum behind beds, cobwebs in corners of walls/ceilings and windowsills are dirty). Well water was a bit smelly during our stay but I realize that's not in your control. **

We really enjoyed this property, though it is way out from town and a grocery store was hard to find. We wish we hadn’t been there during a heat wave. It was too hot to get out much. The house was very clean and nicely furnished. It has everything we needed. We would come back!

Great place to stay needs attention to detail

The house is a great house in a good location. Lots of good things to do. There are a few maintenance things that needed to be addressed and cleaning as well. Lights bulbs out/ not working, broken blinds, many of the screens were ripped/ torn and the front and back screen doors don’t close properly and have screen hanging off, they let bugs in. Fur, fur and more fur.. the carpets, the bed linens, towels all were coated in fur.. as someone who is allergic this is disappointing. The main bathroom door was difficult to close because it rubs badly. The gutters are full of debris and the HVAC condenser drip made damp places for mosquitoes and bugs that were pretty bad. The water drips off right at the steps by the side door. If those things were addressed this would be a 5 out of 5 for me but it’s a 3 of 5 this trip.

Ski With Friends trio

Beautiful country setting, with lovely yard and Stream running through back yard. HOME was very comfortable for four adult women, with large open living area and kitchen. Very clean on arrival. Beds were comfortable and kitchen supplied adequately. Whitetail ski resort is about 45 to 55 minutes away. The roads to the cottage are very winding if you are not used to driving in rural settings. Follow the directions given by host as the road to cottage. is narrow and very dark at night. Love spending Saturday afternoon dining and shopping in Berkeley Springs. Nice property for group of friends and family well pleased with this rental

A nice weekend getaway

We love this place. It’s easy to get to, close to the town, an great house and huge yard. Great place to bring our kid. We came back again 2nd time in a year and brought a friend and her kid as well. Plenty of room and very clean. And the creek is amazing! We will definitely be coming back to Sleepy Creek

Cicada weekend

What a wonderful time we had in your home! First, the house is beautiful, well equipped, and was immaculately clean! Thank you! I have never stayed in a rental with as many utensils and tools as you had ready for us in the kitchen! We loved the location and took full advantage of the creek. The water is clear and full of crawdads, little fish and we even saw a mudpuppy salamander! Being there during the take over of Brood X of the cicadas is why we choose that area of WV and we were not disappointed. They were everywhere and their sound very hypnotic in the seclusion of your property. Some in our family enjoyed them chocolate covered as well! Thank you so much for providing such wonderful, comfortable, and pretty place for our family to relax and enjoy each other. I highly recommend your property!

great getaway

This is a very beautiful cottage tastefully decorated and had everything we needed. The only negative was the invasion of the cicadas. The noise was unbearable which kept us inside . This of course was no fault of the owners. I would definitely come back and enjoy this property when I don't have to share it with bugs!!!

Peaceful Getaway

The Summerfield Cottage in nestled in the woods with a creek running through the backyard. Peaceful and quiet. Within the first hour we were greeted by 6 deer. Heaven! The house was immaculate and inviting. My husband and I were looking for a weekend getaway and cooked all of our meals in the completely stocked kitchen. Everything we need was available and we even grilled filets on the gas grill! The master bedroom mattress was very comfortable and we slept like babies. Was the perfect place for us & we are looking forward to booking again to enjoy the beautiful wrap around deck in the warmer months!

Loved our stay at Summerfield Cottage

Lovely home nestled among trees with a creek in the backyard. The deck was amazing and relaxing. Inside was a large, open kitchen, dining, living space, with lots of room for all of us. Comfortable beds and quiet nights made for peaceful sleep. Management was great with communication prior to our visit.

A treasure along the river

What a serene, peaceful gem of Berkley Springs. Conveniently tucked away along the river making it easy to get around. A wonderful atmosphere to unwind, relax, enjoy the river, and water views. The house was very well maintained and clean, hospitality at its best. A real treasure!
