Spectacular retreat
Il Frutetto ('the orchard') was an absolute joy. John and Sue were consummate hosts–funny, articulate, helpful and knowledgeable. The views are stunning from all directions. The estate is well laid-out, with a very functional and well-stocked kitchen, and the pool and decks were a true luxury. Know that it is a bit out in the country, so a drive is required to get to sights and shopping. We found incredible dining in Julianova (Taglietto, and others) and a great enoteca (wine shop) about 5 km away (but a very decent Montepulciano d'Abruzzo can be had at the market for 3 euro)! Sue also arranged a local cook to come in and demonstrate the making of a 3 course meal (a homemade savory ravioli, a superb lamb dish, and custard for dessert). There is much to see and do in Abruzzo, but relaxing in a place like Il Frutetto itself was worth the trip.

A jewel in undiscovered Italy
We were two families looking for a large property with a pool, ideally within reach of villages and the sea. John and Sue, our hosts, provided us with this and more. The house is larger than it seems from the photos, is very clean, furnished with good quality items, and has the most fantastic views. We were within 25 minutes of good beaches and restaurants and an hour into the Apennine Mountains. It was very hot when we were there but the large fans provided kept us cool at night, and during the day there were several outdoor seating areas where we could find shade, or just bask beside the pool. We agreed that the views from the BBQ, while turning meat and fish and supping Montepulciano wine, were the best we have ever had in a villa. The rolling hillsides topped with small villages are dwarfed by the mountains in the distance. John and Sue were excellent hosts. John turned up most days to clean the pool and make sure we had what we needed, and was very helpful when thinking about restaurants or areas to visit. I can really recommend this accommodation and this undiscovered, relatively ‘tourist-free’ area of Italy.

Fantastisch
Absolut empfehlenswert . Ein perfekt ausgestattetes Haus. Total nette, hilfsbereite Vermieter, danke Sue, danke John. Die Lage des Hauses ist genial, sowohl Meer als auch Berge sind gut mit dem Auto erreichbar. Wir werden es weiterempfehlen.

Countryside Villa for Family
My family stayed here for a week. The house is truly a villa. It is 5 bedrooms with each bedroom having its own private bathroom. The views were amazing. When we come back to Abruzzo we will be booking this place for future use. Perfect place for large families or couples.

die perfekte Auszeit
das Haus ist ideal für den Urlaub mit Freunden und Teenagern, es gibt 5 Schlafzimmer mit eigenem Bad, das Erdgeschoß verfügt über eine große, gut ausgestattete Küche die in ein großes Esszimmer übergeht. Für etwas Privatsphäre gibt es ein Wohnzimmer. Die Anfahrt ist mit einem SUV kein Problem, tiefergelegte Autos jedoch werden Schwierigkeiten auf der Schotterzufahrt haben. Wir haben NICHTS vermisst, das Meer ist 20 Min entfernt - der Blick auf die Berge von der Terrasse aus ist Urlaub für die Augen. Danke für die Gastfreundschaft und den täglichen "Poolservice"

Toller Urlaub in sehr entspannender Umgebung
Für uns war es ein toller, entspannter Urlaub in abgeschiedenem Umfeld. Unser Vermieter wohnte direkt angrenzend, war aber zu keinem Zeitpunkt präsent. Das Objekt war sauber und ordentlich geführt, der Pool wurde jeden Tag gereinigt. Wir können diese Urlaubslokation nur empfehlen :-)

Bella vacanza in tranquillità
La casa è ben descritta sul sito. Molto spaziosa e accogliente (eravamo in 8 o10 secondo i giorni). Strada sterrata di oltre 1 Km per raggiungerla con necessità di bassa velocità. Si sta tranquillamente in 10 adulti come famiglie (+ letti per i figli in alcune stanze) o giovani in gruppo che possono arrivare a 13-14. La piscina è ben tenuta e lo spazio ben organizzato con illuminazione fino a tarda serata. I proprietari sono inglesi, sono gentili e molto discreti; non parlano bene italiano ma alla fine ci si capisce. Gli infissi non sono del tutto ben funzionanti e le zanzariere sono vecchie e difficili da fissare. Scomoda la scala esterna per raggiungere le 4 stanze al piano superiore, soprattutto se piove! Dividendo la spesa si può accettare il rapporto qualità/prezzo. Siamo stati bene in tranquillità.

Toller Urlaub
Wir haben den Urlaub bei Sue und John sehr genossen. Das Haus ist schön und gut ausgestattet, sehr sauber und gepflegt. Die Vermieter wohnen im hinteren Teil und geben tolle Tipps zum essen gehen - wenn man Hilfe braucht sind sie da, sonst sieht man sie nicht. Der Pool wird täglich gereinigt - wirklich schön mit Panoramablick. Alles in allem empfehlenswert.

Recommended!
We stayed here for 10 days in July with a group of 16 people. What a magical place. The photos are beautiful but the reality is just much more beautiful. The house has everything you need and it is so nice to stay in the garden, on the terrace, .... Both young and old have enjoyed the house and the pool. And what a welcome by Sue: freshly baked cake, jam, corn flakes, milk and a bottle of prosecco and much more, because we arrived late. No two people are more hospitable than John and Sue. Thank you for making this a fantastic holiday together with your wonderful house. The view of the mountains made us dream and we will never forget ... an excellent base for nice trips ... This was certainly a welcome holiday after the difficult Corona period. Jessica en Co

Wonderful stay in Abruzzo
We stayed one week in this lovely house with extremly nice views around us. We were 7 adults and 6 children and all of us enjoyd the stay. The house felt almost like new and it was very nice with seperate bath rooms to all bed rooms. Kichten was well equiped and easy to use which meant we could create perfect dinners at the nice outisde dining area. The owners Joe and Sue were very helpful and always there if we needed something. We had nothing to complain about during the whole week and the total experience were just GREAT.

Schöner gehts nicht!
Unsere Wahl für unseren Urlaub hätte gar nicht besser sein können. Das Haus , die Lage , die Einrichtung, der Blick, die Ruhe waren wunderbar. Sue & John sind sehr liebevolle Gastgeber ruhig und unauffällig aber immer bereit für ein nettes Gespräch oder einen guten Tipp für Unternehmungen aller Art. Unser Hund war begeistert von dem riesigen Garten. Wir fühlten uns sehr, sehr wohl und der Abschied fiel so richtig schwer. Jürgen mit Familie

Segal/Hasler family holiday August 2019
Dear John and Sue, Thank you so much for a wonderful two weeks just spent at Il Frutteto. What a beautiful location, with stunning views and complete peace. We had a great time, 11 of us in total and spent our days lazing by the pool, wine tasting, visiting The Gran Sasso mountains, dancing at a beer festival, visiting the beaches and eating at various local restaurants. The house was perfectly set up for large groups and we spent lovely evenings sitting around the comfortable seating area playing cards and watching the sunsets. We were so well looked after by you both and had everything we needed to make it a really comfortable stay. It is a magical place in a totally unspoilt part of Italy. We loved the fact that there were no tourists and had great fun trying to speak Italian to the locals. We have so many happy memories from our holiday and really hope to visit you both (and Amber of course )again soon. Better than we could have ever dreamed!
Except for not realizing that the “road” started in the parking lot of the Pedicone olive oil company, and missing our initial turn, we had the most amazing week! I knew it was beautiful from the photos, but the photos didn’t begin to do it justice! You guys were sooo sweet and all the little touches were perfect! The huge outside table and adjustable shade, umbrellas everywhere. The box of pool towels and the cool rack to dry them on. The great cooking utensils, fans in the bedrooms, well designed bathrooms with shelves for toiletries etc. ... Even a pot if basil and parsley by the kitchen door... and screens! BUT we kept having to pinch ourselves to believe that this landscape was real. I know that the area is lovely but this view is like a movie backdrop! And allowing our party!!! OMG you two are THE BEST! Everyone had a marvelous time!! We can’t even thank you enough for making this family reunion a most perfect memory for everyone!

Großzügiges Haus in traumhafter Lage
Das großzügige Ferienhaus liegt traumhaft, fernab allen Trubels, ca. 25 min. von Giulianova inmitten von Olivenhainen und Weinbergen – im Hintergrund das beeindruckende Bergmassiv der Abruzzen. Wir haben dort mit 3 Familien (insgesamt 15 Personen) einen wunderbaren, sehr erholsamen Urlaub verbracht. Das Haus ist auch für diese Gruppengröße bestens ausgestattet. Es fehlt wirklich an nichts. Ein echter Geheimtipp auch für Familien mit Kindern! Besonders der große Pool und das weitläufige Grundstück sorgen für viel Abwechslung. Die Vermieter Sue und John sind sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Sue organisierte für uns eine Besichtigung der benachbarten Olivenölmanufaktur und übernahm die Rolle der Dolmetscherin.

Beautiful house in a wonderful setting
We rented the house for ten days in August, we are a large family, 10 adults with three children. The house is exactly as described and like the photos. All the bedrooms have private bathrooms which is a plus, modern furniture throughout the house and it has a fully equiped kitchen. Great outside space for eating and a super pool area which kept us cool in the hot afternoons. The house is situated in a lovely isolated setting, Sue and John were great hosts and made us feel at home. The children made friends with their very friendly dog, Amber. Abruzzo is a really beautiful region to visit and everyone is really friendly, Food and wine are the best.

worth every single € !!!!!!
Fabulous place, extraordinary nature and spectacular sight on the mountain 'Gran Sasso'. Beautiful house, everything planned to the last detail, wonderful Pool and Barbecue, the isolated position garantees total relax and calm nights. The owners are always present when you need them, but never intrusive. This place is worth every single Euro and for sure you will come back asap.

Bellissima villa !!
Paesaggio e villa sono un tutt’uno. Tutto meraviglioso, la villa arredata con cura ed il bel tempo ha fatto sì che potessimo godere anche della piscina completa di ogni confort. La signora Sue e il signor John molto cordiali e disponibili. Sicuramente una vacanza da rifare!!!

Great property in a stunning location
A fantastic base to explore this beautiful and diverse region of Italy. We very much enjoyed our time at the villa which was clean and modern with everything you could want for a great vacation. The property is a short drive from the beautiful beaches of the Adriatic and an hour away from the stunning Grand Sasso mountains. There are also many supermarkets and restaurants within a short drive. The pool proved to be a very popular place to unwind in the afternoon after a busy morning exploring. Sue and John are very attentive hosts and we're always available to answer our questions. I would throughly recommend a stay here it is a very special place with views that you will never tire of!

Wunderschöne Villa in traumhafter Lage
Die Villa ist Top ausgestattet,jedes Zimmer hat ein eigenes Bad.Der Pool ist grandios mit wunderbarer Aussicht und 10 Poolliegen,perfekt zum relaxen.Die Villa ist sehr ruhig gelegen und doch ist man per Auto in 3 Minuten in Bellante Stazione wo es viele Einkaufsmöglichkeiten gibt.Der Strand in Giulanova ist ca.15 Km entfernt,aber er lohnt sich,wunderschöner Strand+Meer.Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und wohnen gleich nebenan,aber man bemerkt sie nicht,früh morgens reinigen sie den Pool und ansonsten sieht man sie eigentlich nicht.Wir waren mit 10 Personen dort (6 Erwachsene+4 Kinder)und würden dort jederzeit wieder Urlaub machen.Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen.

Fantastic newly built villa with amazing views
We had a fantastic week staying at the villa. The views that welcomed us in the evening were fantastic (the mountains of the Gran Sasso) and after spending the day flying from Stockholm and then traveling from Rome by car, we soon fell asleep in the comfortable beds. The house has a brand new feeling, very clean and with a bathroom for all of the large bedrooms. There is an outdoors dining area with enough chairs and tables for everyone. That also goes for the pool area were we spent many afternoons, swimming in the large swimming pool. Even though the weather was warm the villa stayed cold as long as you remembered to close the doors and windows that were exposed to the sun. During the week we explored the nearby area, with small villages and beaches. There is also a large shopping mall nearby with everything 2 families with small children might need during the stay. Our hosts Sue and John were also very helpful at all times and lived nearby so we could always reach them. All in all, 5 out of 5 stars.

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour familial. La maison est très agréable , fonctionnelle et bien agencée. Les propriétaires sont très sympathiques et nous y reviendrons certainement !

Traumhaftes Ferienhaus
Das neu gebaute Ferienhaus ist einfach traumhaft. Man lebt völlig ungestört, fernab vom Straßenlärm und Urlaubstrubel. Das große Grundstück mit einer wunderbaren Poolausstattung lädt zum sonnenbaden, grillen und relaxen ein. Das Haus ist hervorragend ausgestattet und jedes Zimmer hat ein eigenes Bad mit WC. Man kann sich auf diesem Anwesen nur wohlfühlen. Die Aussicht auf die Hügel und Berge der Abruzzen ist atemberaubend. Das Meer mit seinen Sandstränden ist in 25 Minuten erreichbar. Es gibt nichts auszusetzen. Die Vermieter sind herausragend nett und zuvorkommend und nie aufdringlich. Dieses Ferienhaus ist ein absoluter Geheimtipp für einen erholsamen und stressfreien Urlaub. Wir kommen wieder mit der ganzen Familie.

Absolument superbe location
Nous étions les premiers locataires 11 personnes ( 4 adultes et 7 enfants ) l'endroit est merveilleux, une vue à 360° que rien n'entrave les montagnes du Grand Sasso encore un peu enneigées sont bien visibles La maison entièrement neuve est une ossature en bois et est très fraiche malgré une température de 31° extérieure C'est très bien isolé et pas de bruit La piscine à 30 ° très propre et l'eau chauffée avec les panneaux photovoltaïque et thermique ( aussi pour la piscine) Les Propriétaires, dans une maison séparée, sont très très discret et vraiment sympathiques Vous pouvez réserver sans crainte, c'était notre plus bel endroit de toutes nos vacances depuis 18 ans
