"I was a walker arriving at the Nag's Head at 15.30. I was warmly received and shown to my very comfortable room. Although the restaurant was closed on a Tuesday evening, i was provided with a wonderful Chinese meal at a very modest cost. I requested a continental breakfast which was fine. Pick Hill is a lovely small village with a long history, some of which is displayed in the ancient church. "

"Great stay in a great pub/inn in a lovely village. Originally we were looking for somewhere near York and picked this place at random – so got lucky. Decent-sized, comfortable room, the beer 'proper' Yorkshire, and the food was excellent throughout – we could have eaten almost amything on the quite extensive menu. "The only downside was breakfast only one staff member to take order and cook as well which meant the self service area was not restocked so there was no juice or cutlery left so had to improvise. Area very small had to move table backwards and forwards to get legs under table from both sides. Long wait for breakfast and only one piece of toast would be better with 2.
