Prepare to be very surprised with how comfortable and convenient Fish Tale is for your vacation. The view is spectacular, the floor plan is open and comfortable, and unlike many houses along the beach we are only steps from the nearest beach access so no driving needed!
Fish Tale is the home on Bald Head that you will rent year after year. Just ask our guests! Walk through the front door, take in the sweeping views of the Atlantic from almost every window, and relax instantly on the huge sofa in the wide open floor plan. You will soon be sharing your own 'Fish Tales' with friends about your adventures on Bald Head Island.

This home is perfect for two-three families or 3 couples, with 2 master suites (king beds), a queen bedroom, and a bunk room with full twin bunks, built in bunks suitable for teens and younger (not quite twin size mattress) and full size crib.
Dining in? No problem! The kitchen is very well stocked (many families say they will always rent for Thanksgiving due to many pots, pans, appliances, serving ware, etc). Add to that a large round dining table that easily seats up to 10 with spectacular views of the ocean!
The open floor plan with a soaring ceiling makes living in Fish Tale most enjoyable. The living area is open to the kitchen, dining area, and sunroom. Although it is open, the bedrooms are tucked privately off the open living area. There are also several sitting areas to read, puzzle, enjoy coffee, or just admire the view. The most popular places to relax however, are the sunroom to view the sunrise and the deck to soak in the sunset. Just gorgeous!
Fish Tale truly has something for everyone. We provide high speed wireless internet and DVR service on the TV. So you can head to the beach but not miss your game, favorite show, or golf match. Although this is not a new home, it sure has fun, updated furnishings and linens. All guests comment on the comfortable and high quality beds, pillows, and linens.
We are extremely kid and beach friendly! Home includes a high chair, booster chair, 2 full cribs, pack and play, toys, books, and beach and pool toys and floats/boards. You will enjoy the quality beach chairs, beach towels, beach bags, and private outdoor shower. Our goal is to be sure all amenities are in working order and ready for you! We provide access to one double kayak as well. Let the exploring begin!!
Fish Tale is conveniently located on South Beach just steps from a beach access. We are close to the Bald Head Island Club, the Maritime Market. Two 4-seater golf carts are available for your use.
Access to the BHI club is available with separate purchase directly through the club.

The house is very comfortable and spacious. The photos do it justice. The kitchen is stocked with everything. The view of the sunset and sunbathing on the front deck is amazing. The house is located in a good location on the island because itā€™s a short drive to the grocery store and restaurants. It also has a beach access right across the street.

Amazing beach front home!

Beautiful home! Pictures do not do not accurately show how amazing this home is. Right across the street from beach actress. 3 golf carts, one of which was brand new and comfortably fit all 4 of us. 2 masters on opposite sides of the home, everyone has plenty of space! Cannot wait to return!

A Beautiful Fish!

Fish Tale is a wonderful home. Great view of the beach from the deck, well appointed and lovely, clean home. Great place for a large group or small gathering. The owners are very generous with usage of bicycles, beach equipment, etc.

Fantastic Stay!!

We absolutely love staying at Fish. Tale. Everything about it was a pleasant surprise! The house was extremely clean, bright and sunny. We had three toddlers with us and certainly did not need to bring one toy! There is a wonderful area for play complete with toys, cars, books and building blocks. The house is located right across from Beach Access 17. It was easy for everyone to come and go. The outdoor shower with plenty of warm water was a major plus. It also serves to keep the house very clean.The kitchen is fabulous and well equipped. We loved spending our days at the beach and pools, and we loved coming home to Great family dinners and evenings at Fish Tale. Thank you for providing this fabulous property.

Great!

We had a fantastic stay at this property - I was pleasantly surprised to find it to be much more spacious and updated in the living areas than I was expecting. There were ample toys for the babies and young kids to play with, we didn't need to unpack any toys that we bought. I was expecting larger/newer golf carts, but the 2 4-seater carts did the job just fine! The kitchen was awesome, overall stay was fantastic. Just wish we would have booked longer!

Worst stay at BHI

We have stayed at BHI about a dozen times. This was the worst stay yet. For the price you pay, there should be no issues. First issue when we got there was the freezer. It had ice built up below the freezer so the door wouldn't shut. Water was melted all over the floor. Had to call maintenance and freezer couldn't be used. Next was main living room TV. No picture, only sound. Called maintenance. TV is not working and needs to be replaced. So we all as a family could not watch TV together. Everyone ended up in separate rooms to watch TV. Next, we were short towels and floor mats for some reason. Come to find out after 2 days, most of the hand towels, floor mats, kitchen towels were still in the dryer! Cleaniness was poor at best. All of our feet were black if walking around barefoot. Microwave needs replacing. Stove could only get to 350 and worked iintermittently. We ended up having to broil anything we put in there because the oven couldn't get hot enough. Needless to say, almost everything we needed to use or required had an issue. This was a BHI managed property and we will never use them again.

Wonderful Stay at a Very Nice Home

My family stayed at Fish Tale over Labor Day Weekend. The home was perfect for us! The amenities were great. There was a playroom for my daughter to use, a highchair, as well as multiple crib/pack and play options. The kitchen was fully stocked and easy to navigate. The distance to the beach was very manageable (less than a block) with access to beach chairs, towels and toys. Overall, a wonderful stay at a very nice home. Thank you!!

Great location and a very nice house!!!

We really enjoyed our stay here! The location is great, just steps away from the beach. The house is super cute with lots of personalized touches. Everything you need is there. Kitchen is very well equipped. And everything is labeled which is super helpful. Our dog loved it too! We will be back!

Best beach house!

This might be my favorite beach house ever! It's perfect for the big things like location, proximity to the beach, beds, and decor. But beyond that, there are so many small (and medium) details that make this place an absolute perfect vacation rental! The kitchen is super well stocked and the cabinets are labeled, making it easy to find things. The pantry and fridge even had a few essentials that saved us in a pinch. There's a pot of fresh basil and cilantro growing on the front porch with an invitation to water it when dry and clip some when needed for cooking! Love that so much! The games were well stocked and the different seating and table areas were perfect for games, puzzles, reading, napping, or just hanging out. There were tons of great beach toys, chairs, bikes, and other outdoor equipment, all well organized and labeled. The bathrooms came stocked with homemade bars of soap! Loved the sunrise porch and the oceanfront porch. Enjoyed the incredible views from all around. Thank you for a wonderful vacation home!

Familiy getaway

The house, location, and views were wonderful. Kitchen was fully stocked. I would prefer a coffee pot to a Keureg though as they are so bad for the environment with the excess trash that is not recyclable. Also, beware of the neighbors black labrador retriever, he bit my daughter as she was riding her bike. It did put a big stressor on the trip but we didn't let it ruin it.

Nicely equipped beach cottage

This property was a wonderful place to stay the week after my daughterā€™s wedding. Great location across from the beach. Cute beach cottage, fully equipped. The only minor problem was large palmetto bugs all over the house. Might need an exterminator to come spray. Other than that, perfect!

Our stay was very enjoyable and relaxing. You could not ask for a better place to stay and the sunset view from the deck or living room were 5 stars. There was a few recommendations: There is a leak around the shower door tracking in front right bathroom. The golf carts need to be updated or do some maintenance. The first one we took out, had a flat tire about 2 miles out, had a good walk back. Tires were dry rotten. Went back and got the second one, after it had been charging all night, and it gave out about 3 miles out, we caught a ride that time, needless to say we did drive to far from the cottage anymore.

Wonderful stay!

We had a wonderful stay with three families all with small children. The bunk room was perfect for the kids and the other three bedrooms were great for the adults. The best part was the sun room area with ALL the TOYS! We didnā€™t have to unpack any of the toys we brought and the kiddos had a blast. Everything was clean and well organized. The only criticism that we have is that having only two 4-person golf carts was difficult when the house slept so many people. Everything else was wonderful and well stocked! Kitchen was above average. The cooking appliances and the kitchen tools were way above expectations. We loved being able to walk to the beach. The toys and crab pots were great to have as well.
