OFF TO A DISAPPOINTING START
When we arrived at check-in time at 4:00, the house had not been cleaned since the last guests a week earlier. The host arranged for someone to clean at 6:00 so it was after 7:00 when we moved in. As a result, we had to kill 3 hours and pay to dine out rather than eat what we brought for dinner. The host did refund the cleaning fee and some out-of-expenses we incurred. We recommended a couple of things that need attention: i.e. clean the oven and under the kitchen sink.

Beautiful Cabin
This cabin was beautiful. Wow. So cozy, homey and charming. Clean. Loved all the windows!! Such beautiful views. Easy check in and check out. Property owner was very responsive. Only hard thing is the stairs if you have littles. Thanks and we’ll hopefully be back again!

Property was great. Just a little hard to cool the place down to sleep, and the kitchen faucet is difficult. Otherwise, coffee and breakfast on the balcony was awesome.

Great place overall, some frustration
When we pulled up to the property, we had nowhere to park because the property had not been shoveled. We had to carry our belongings through 3-4ft of snow and park a half block away. Thankfully we are both able bodied or we would not have been able to make it from the street to the property. When I contacted the owner I was told that it was supposed to be shoveled. The patio was also totally covered in snow so we managed to shovel that and clear it. The next day, it still wasn’t cleared so we had to once again carry all of our belongings through the snow and out to the car. Aside from this, it’s a nice rustic little place with a pretty view from the patio balcony.

trip to the snow, clear access to park not included
First I will start with the positive, the location was beautiful. We wanted to take the kids to the snow since they had a day off from school. The cabin was clean though did have some dirty dishes inside the cabinet, likely no fault of the owner and we clean before we use anyway but some were extremely dirty. Now the bad; we had to shovel the snow ourself to even be able to get into the driveway/entrance of the house. I’m not talking about a little bit of snow it was easily 3-4ft. We were told the day of that there was “somehow snow in the driveway and to be careful” I definitely was not expecting that much! There had been no fresh fallen snow and we booked about two weeks in advance not sure why this wasn’t taken care of. I had my 8 month old baby extremely dangerous. There was 1 shovel and we lucked out that a neighbor saw us and lended another shovel. I have carpel tunnel and was in lots of pain afterwards and during my stay. Shoveling the snow was not in our plans it took us over an hour just to be able to pull the car in, we then had to rush to dinner by the time we were done it was dark and the kids couldn’t even play in the snow the first day, such a waste! We shoveled for over an hour! If I was told earlier (than the day of and how much) I would have easily cancelled. I had to keep following up to see if anyone was coming and apparently they were all “busy” The next day the kids did get to play in the snow so that was nice me and my husband are not used to snow and were sore the next day but I guess we at least got a workout?? I guess the price paid was for the cabin only, not safe access to get inside.

Good location
Nice home located 5 minutes to big trees and 45 to Bear Valley, comfortable for a larger family. Outside BBQ was a nice touch .

Excellent location cozy cabin
We has a great time here. The host was very quick to answer any questions we had. The beds were very comfortable and the central heating worked great. The kids enjoyed all the games in the cabinet under the breakfast bar and all the coloring activities. If you have children under 4, be wary of the stairwell and the bridge to cross over to the house from parking.

Fantastic getaway!!
We had another wonderful time at this awesome cabin! We love it in the winter and summer, as the Blue Lake Springs location is ideal for lake fun at Blue Lake or White Pines and skiing at Bear Valley. The cabin has comfy beds and lots of room for everyone to spread out. The kitchen is well stocked and we especially appreciate the washer and dryer. It’s always very clean and Anand is great to work with. He responds quickly and is very helpful. The area has tons of activities and we just love it! We can’t wait to return!!

Nice getaway close to Murphys
Stayed here after a concert in Murphys. Very cute place! The road is a little tricky to navigate in the dark but it's a great place. There is a nice deck out back to watch the stars. I would stay here again.

Peace and Quiet
We loved the absolute quiet in the surrounding neighborhood. The rental was the perfect size and although there were only two of us, it could easily accommodate 6 people. Also, the location was only one mile from the Big Trees Park, plus only two miles from the little town of Arnold. We enjoyed our three days there so much!

Rustic Mountain Cabin
Anand is a fantastic host. Emails were responded to within an hour (most of the time less than 15 minutes). The location of the cabin was perfect for us. Our main reason for being there was its close proximity to both the Calaveras Big Trees Park and the Arnold Rim Trail. Both great places to hike. Just a caution, we had no cell service in and around Arnold where the cabin is located. Internet connection was no problem, so text messages were an option as well as email. Also, the cabin is in a development, so make sure you have your directions in your navigation device. Once we got to Arnold, we had no service on our cell phones. Luckily we had looked at a map of the complex before we left, so we found the cabin.

Amazing weekend! Cabin was perfect
Cabin was very comfortable and clean. All the comforts of home. Although me and my guests believe it may be slightly haunted... alarms going off for no reason, seasoning packets flying from one part of the counter to another, someone said they heard voices in the pantry... but after an offering we felt comfortable. It was very nice that the host left a guest pass for the resort. Excellent communication with host. Great value for price! Only wish I reserved it for longer.

Inconvenient stay
We got there and arrived to a house with unmade beds and dishes in the sink from previous guests. The host said he’d been trying to contact the cleaners all day but only told us that when we were there to check in and didn’t let us know in advance. Especially with what’s happening in the world with COVID-19 this is not acceptable. The cleaner didn’t show up for a while and so we had to find somewhere else to go to wait to be able to come back to the cabin. We drove hours to get here in the first place so this was not pleasant at all.

Yes the cleaners had an emergency and they were late, for which I refunded the cleaning fee. I had let the guests know that the cleaners are running late 2 hours before their arrival. Check-in was at 4, the cleaners arrived at 4.21pm and the guests were still in the cabin, not waiting somewhere else as stated in the review. I was constantly in communication with one of the group members and they were all ok. Even if the cleaners got cabin ready for the night, the guest wanted a full refund for the stay, which is unreasonable. I refunded the cleaning fee which clearly did not satisfy them and hence a negative review. Emergencies happen. I did everything that I could to rectify the situation and gave the refund for the cleaning fee.

Lovely Woodsy Getaway
Plenty of beds - the host has updated the furniture since the photos were taken, and added a full sized futon/couch to the living room and two more twin/small sized futon couches. That, combined with the queen bed, 2 twin beds, and the pull out in the loft means there's plenty of beds. However, it's quite warm and most of my party ended up sleeping downstairs in the living room or the queen room with the door open so the wall unit AC gets air through. When looking for the unit, go one house past 930. It's a narrow driveway (as all of them are) that require you to reverse out. You could fit two cars. The inside has a very nice vibe, and the host is responsive. Be careful when getting the key out of the lockbox, as the lockbox front detaches once you unlock it.

Calaveras Big Trees
We had a lovely stay in this beautiful area just down the road from Calaveras Big Trees State Park. There is a communal recreation area, which we took advantage of (for a small fee) - swimming in the lake was such a treat during the hot summer. The property was comfortable and well appointed. There was only one window unit for A/C, which made it tolerable but not totally comfortable in the 110 degree heat. Nice restaurants within a short drive.

Short family trip
The temperatures for the whole 10 day family vacation were well above 100F. Our stay in Arnold was great and we definitely recommend the accommodation - a few things would have made it even more enjoyable: the a/c just wasn’t able to deal with the temps; the fan upstairs was just blowing hot air around; the en-suite bathroom had an extra doorway to the kitchen - this sliding door would not close, so we had to drape a towel with clips and tape to provide some privacy. Some laundry from previous guests was left in the washing machine for us to move. Other than these things the accommodation was wonderful. Thank you

Fantastic cabin!!
We absolutely loved our stay! The cabin has gorgeous views from all windows, is well-stocked and in the perfect location for lots of family fun. We especially enjoyed White Pines Lake and the Calaveras Big Trees State Park (both very short drives). The beds were comfortable and the cabin was INCREDIBLY clean - the cleanest place we've rented on VRBO and we've rented a ton! It smelled so fresh and clean when we walked in and we were happily surprised to see things like tissues, shampoo and conditioner (often not included in our previous rentals). The owner was very responsive and helpful and responded right away to any questions we had. We can't wait to return! It was so nice to sit out on the deck. The only suggestion we have is to fix the pocket door on the downstairs bathroom - a little awkward to use, since it opens to the kitchen. Having a washer and dryer was a huge plus too!

This property says it has two bedrooms but one has children’s beds in it. I am 5’ 2” and my feet went off the bed. The down stairs bathroom pocket door did not shut all the way which made it Awkward to use. I was traveling with my girl friend. It said it had air conditioning but it was a wall unit and in Arnold you need air conditioning in summer. On the up side this place is stocked with everything you will need and more…

We had a very relaxing weekend in this clean, rustic cabin nestled under the trees. It’s a lovely get away for a couple or for four people. BUT: if you have a party of 5 (as we did), please note that the loft sectional in the description is not a sleeper couch or a futon (as described in the bedroom), and we could only find one sheet and a blanket to make up bedding for it. Basically, this is a four person cabin, with any extra people needing to be willing to couch surf. The owner did explain they were in the process of updating the cabin furniture and hoped to put a daybed in the loft area - if you’re looking to book this place for a bigger party and are reading this review in the months/years to come, maybe check whether there’s a mattress for your 5th person .
