On the Pond in Maine
The cabin was very clean and very well supplied. The property ended where the pond began and the host provided a fire pit and chairs for enjoying the view in the evening. A screen in porch was very nice, too. Wish we had known about the boat landing right next to the cabin.

Adorable Cabin!
Beautiful property right on the lake, we stayed in early April. They just had fresh snow, so pretty. Perfect little retreat from the world.

Will return for the summer.
This cabin is a beautiful spot very off of the main road. Secluded and super peaceful trip, we stayed during a strong winter wind storm, but still got beautiful really nearby trail hikes in, we would love to return in a few months when it’s warmer. Thank you again!

Life on the pond
This a beautiful place to stay. My family and I enjoyed life on the pond. Our stay was short but we plan to come back and visit. Winter or summer at the pond is definitely worth the trip.

3 Aussies abroad
The cabin was amazing, the location spectacular. The weather was beyond what we expected. It had snowed a day or two before we got there & made our stay a magical winter wonderland. Will hopefully get a chance to return again.

Home away from home
Stayed here while I was house hunting in the area (found one!) and Wow. This camp was even better than the photos. Clean, cozy, gorgeous views, almost better than home. The mattress was perfect, watching tv before nodding off to peaceful bliss was delightful. Kitchen had all necessities, shower had great water temp and pressure,and the pups enjoyed snoozing by the heater. Thank you for a delightful stay!

Quick weekend get away.

Beautiful and private getaway
Andy’s Place is a beautiful, quiet, clean and cozy home. We felt at home immediately and loved the woodstove. We used the kayaks multiple times and cherished our time on the pond, in peace and quiet with the loons. The house was super clean with attention to detail and had everything you might need. It’s a great location, not far from the best hiking in northern Maine. We drove to Baxter State Park one day for hiking and went to Little Wilson Falls on another. We will definitely stay again!

A True Vacation
We love staying at Andy’s Place in Abbot, Maine. The weather for our stay was outstanding and the few remaining loons were a pleasure to observe. The charming cottage has a lovely view of the pond & mountains, especially the screen porch where we toasted every sunset. The kitchen provides everything you need. We enjoyed a few day trips to local sites. We look forward to returning! Thank you, Andy’s Place, for making our Maine visit so perfect!

Andy's Place
Margo and I loved the property! We had everything we needed to make our stay great. Although it rained a lot while we were there we made the best of it. Margo got a lot of great pictures of the loons and one of a bald eagle. We especially enjoyed just sitting in the big rockers on the screened porch and watching loons and the peaceful pond. We did some riding around the area for Margo to get some other great photos. Check in and out was easy. We would recommend to all! Thanks again for our great experience. PS. We just booked a week long stay in august 2024.

We keep coming back
Our third visit to Andy's Place and we keep coming back because it's such a pleasant place to be when you want some down time. This week after Labor Day it was mostly just us and quiet neighboring renters, plus the loon family and a heron who was hanging out to keep tabs on the baby frogs that were coming ashore. The camp, as always, was clean, comfortable, and stocked with everything that we needed. The large screened in porch was a front seat to view the spectacular light show on our last evening there - several hours of "heat lightening" that lit up the whole sky - nature's fireworks! Thanks for everything, Paul and Kelly. We will keep coming back.

Amazing place to stay. Beds are very comfy. Comfortable seating. Don't worry if you forget anything. Kelly probably already has it here. So relaxing to sit watching the pond and mother nature. We will definitely be coming back. Friendly people every where around.

Perfect for a getaway
We absolutely loved our stay at Andy’s place and wish we could have stayed longer. Great location and the cabin is adorable. Loved sitting on the dock watching the loons on the lake, the screened porch is also fabulous. Would definitely come back!

Small & Sweet
We loved the convenience to our family in the area. The camp's decor was very lake and I loved it! Easy wifi access and check in/check out. Whetstone Pond is active with kids which we loved. We had a question once we got there and Paul immediately answered it. We highly recommend the camp!

Little slice of heaven
I was originally looking to book a last minute get away for my mother for Mothers Day weekend. What we got was so much more! As some reviews have stated, this cabin supplied so much more than you could think of (cookware, throw blankets, toiletries, etc). The beds were comfortable, cabin was clean, and responses from the host were very quick! I can’t speak on things to do around the cabin because we didn’t venture out since we were only there for such a short time. The cabin, however, was very peaceful! If you are thinking about booking this cabin, JUST DO IT!! We all enjoyed this little slice of heaven, including the puppers!!! ❤️

This cottage had everything you need and then some. Spotless clean. Amazing details right down to power cords and charging stations for your phones, cleverly decorated, amazing views. Easy access for your boat. Nice experience. Thank you!

Just what we needed!
Great little place to stay! We decided to take a last minute snowmobile trip, since we haven’t gotten much snow in upstate NY this season. This was perfect for us since we are in our 30s and not interested in the “party scene” of snowmobiling. We just wanted to ride and sleep, and Andy’s place gave us just that - relaxation when we wanted it and direct access to the adrenaline trails. Paul came right away when we got the trailer stuck on ice in the driveway with sand and a shovel, less than 10 min later we were settled in and ready to ride. We had everything we needed and found it easy to access the sled trails right from the cottage. We plan to return. Thanks Paul!

Awesome place with great views and relaxing atmosphere.
We had a great time relaxing by the fire and playing in the snow. The home was a little difficult to find. The VRBO link was does to the wrong location. Paul was kind enough to flag us to the correct location but I would highly recommend dropping a pin on the exact location for ease of travel.

I was very happy with my short stay. The cottage had everything to make it an enjoyable stay. I really enjoyed using the wood stove. Paul supplied plenty of wood to burn. The cottage was very warm and cozy without a fire burning. I definetly would stay here again

The photos online did not do justice to the actual location. It is very spacious with lots of seating and sleeping space. We actually overpacked because we were unsure of what would be provided but it had plenty of blankets, towels, flashlights, and cookware. We will likely try to book again in the summer depending on availability. Thanks!

Perfect waterfront vacation spot!
Our stay at Andy's place was magical! It's a beautifully decorated cottage, with a wood stove, screened in (water facing) porch, and all the comforts of home. Although it was out of reach for cell phone service, there is wifi. There are TV's with many streaming apps. But we spent most of our time watching the water, listening to the birds, and taking in the brilliant fall colors of the trees. Those who take care of this place do a wonderful, thorough job. The cottage is very well equipped, with microwave, coffee pot, grill, fire pit, a reading nook with a big comfy chair, and I could go on. We look forward to returning in the future, to stay at Andy's place.

Loved how it was decorated. So warm and cozy. The view was outstanding with the Fall colors and the mist coming off the lake in the morning. And don't forget the call of the Loon. Enjoyed walking the road. Highly recommend!!

The property was amazing. The house was super clean when we got there! The view of the pond was incredible ! We used the wood stove a few nights witch was a nice touch. Being able to roll out of the bed and into the kayaks was a nice touch ! The screened in porch was great to on the rainy days!

Short but sweet
This was our second time renting this property. It's the kind of place that, when you get here you don't want to leave, ever. We enjoyed the spacious porch, a great place to read, relax, nap. Loved the connection to nature: Chipmunks doing highwire antics to get to the bird feeder, loons and a big "raft" of mergansers on the pond, an owl hooting in the night, joined by the howling of coyotes. The kayaks got some attention as well as the fire pit at the water's edge. A quiet and peaceful place to just be.

Relaxing waterfront retreat
I had booked our stay as a surprise Christmas gift to my family. It was 8 months of waiting but it was worth the wait. We were very excited for the getaway and it did not disappoint. We all had a great time. The kids loved swimming, kayaking, fishing and catching frogs . Very quiet and peaceful. The camp had everything you could need and was very nicely decorated. We are already talking about going back again. Quick 30 min drive to Greenville at the south end of moose head lake. Lots of opportunities for scenic day trips. You will not be disappointed.
