"great hotel"

"The room ( junior suite ) was cold as the radiators were not working when we arrived. Reception was informed at about 4,00 pm but nothing improved until several houirs later. Two electric heaters were put in the room and the radiators eventually came on. The 'fault', we weere told, was the room thermostst which was located outside in the hallway (???) and somebody had turned it off. Shame that the management didn't check the room thoroughly prior to our arrival. Otherwise, great room,...

"Gorgeous location. Big room with comfy bed and good bathroom. Cosy bar and we enjoyed a lovely meal. Nice walk into the tiny village for cafe and another pub. Good value. If you’re not a dog person it’s worth noting there were a lot of guests with dogs."

"Walking distance to the North Yorkshire Moor Railway. Very friendly, helpful staff. Room had beautiful view a field of sheep. Excellent food, chef fantastic. "

"We had a wonderful 5 night stay. A quiet village on the edge of the moors with cozy country pub. The pub food was spectacular! I’m not exaggerating… the chefs are top notch. The pub staff were so friendly and helpful too. The room was comfortable with a full king size bed and small well stocked kitchen. If we lived in the UK, we’d visit every year! As Canadians, we’ll have to wait till “next time “."

"We had a really enjoyable stay at Townend Farm and Julie was extremely helpful booking a meal at the Tiger Inn and also giving us information about local bus services The breakfast was a really good standard and cooked perfectly . Our only concern was that the rooms were on the second floor with steep staircases which made it difficult to carry suitcases and to access the rooms.Perhaps it might be worth pointing out on the website Thankyou Julie for a lovely stay "

"The stay at Mulgrave Country Cottage was wonderful. A beautiful house and gardens, peaceful and tranquil. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was fresh, well presented and very tasty. I would highly recommend a visit and we will definitely be returning "

Whether I was heading out to explore the hubbub or grab a bite at nearby restaurants, everything was just outside the door. The room was stylish, with little touches that make a stay feel special. "The hotel was in a beautiful setting and really well decorated. Location is great and just a nice half hour walk to Whitby town. Staff were super helpful and friendly- particularly in the beach house and in the spa. The restaurant was ok. Food an bit overpriced and service wasn’t amazing- such as forgot our drinks a couple of times times and wine came after finished meal. Didn’t try food in beach house but looked nice.
