    Bedroom 1: Kingsize (5ft) Bed Ensuite: Cubicle Shower, Toilet

    Bedroom 2: 2 x Single (3ft) Beds

    Bathroom: Bath With Shower Over, Toilet. Underfloor heating, electricity, bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and logs for wood burner included. Patio with garden furniture and gas barbecue. Bike store. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: There are lakes in the grounds.. This former cart-shed enjoys a tranquil setting with views across open farmland and on site coarse fishing on three lakes, free of charge. The holiday cottage is well located for easy access to the beautiful historic city York and is an ideal touring base for the North York Moors, the Yorkshire Dales, Scarborough, Filey, Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Castle Howard, Beningbrough Hall and the World Heritage Site of Fountains Abbey. Golf available locally and horseracing at York, Thirsk and Ripon. Shop 3 1/2 miles, pub and restaurant 1 1/2 miles. Can be booked with property ref 26131 to accommodate up to 8 guests.

This was a lovely cottage, just perfect in everyday, well stocked with all the equipment you'd need, lively and comfy and cosy, but yet spacious and a thoroughly lovely location by the farm. A lovely walk through the farm on the public footpath to the fields behind was perfect! Will definitely go again and recommend you pick this cottage if staying in this area!

Great base for walking and close to York

Owners helpful and property well stocked with all you needed. Quite at night and as stated working farm in the day. Would stay again.

Clean and Comfortable

We were visiting Yorkshire and wanted a clean, comfortable, spacious property central to the areas we wanted to visit. This property exceeded our expectations. All on the ground floor, with easy access to parking, and several nearby villages with restaurants and shopping. Alan was a great host.

Perfect weekend break to relax and unwind. Cottage was amazing - we booked the Rising Sun but due to problems with the heating we were offered Haddocks Nook instead. This was our third visit to the cottage and probably won’t be our last. Allan & Carrolyn are lovely and the cottage has everything you need to a very high standard as well. We really enjoyed our short break at the Rising Sun Cottage. It is well equipped and feels like a home from home. Lovely to be in the middle of the countryside away from the hustle and bustle of life. The owners were very friendly and let us just get on with relaxing. The cottage was lovely well equipped and clean plenty of room. A real retreat to come home too after a day of sight seeing. York is a very beautiful place the weather wasn’t the best so you can’t really plan where to go just take each day as it comes.

Second visit, family in area. Gorgeous comfortable cottage in beautiful setting that feels remote but is less than 15 minutes from York, Harrogate, Boroughbridge. Well equipt, spotlessly clean, owners onsite, lovely walking from the door. We will return for further visits in area.
