"This house was booked last minute for an improptu women's holiday because it was available and allowed a pet. The view of the lake is beautiful, but you can't get in and out to swim here. Many things were in disrepair like doors, windows, and screens. Linens, towels, water, toilet paper was not ready for us and had to be asked for and was stained and worn. The microwave and stove top were not setup to work and our air conditioner went out on our second day. I would not stay here again but the...

"Amazing communication with owner. Great location, a few blocks away from downtown. Everything was very clean and owner also supplied kayaks and life jackets. "

"Absolutely lovely! It was an oasis in the middle of the jungle forest. The staff are friendly and responsive. We loved the pool and the central common area. Our apartment had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The showers were great. Please know the dirt road was quite bumpy but doable for a regular vehicle. "

"Een hele rustige leuke locatie om te verblijven. Zwembad was heerlijk! Huis was erg mooi en sfeervol. De weg er naar toe is een zandweg, met droog weer prima te doen met een normale auto. Erg van genoten."

"The property was very nice and pool was excellent. Each unit has a nice patio with table and outdoor seating overlooking the pool . They also have two Weber BBQs with a children play area. Very family friendly. The only complaints are about the signage on the hwy and the access road is more like a jeep trail. I would not recommend taking a car with a low suspension."

"Our stay at Casa Xchel in Calderitas was wonderful! The house has a modern feel but is fully stocked with thoughtful amenities—everything from a blow dryer and hairbrush to shampoo, conditioner, body wash, robes, towels (including pool towels), an iron and ironing board, washer and dryer with detergent, and even a speaker for music. "Hotel is amazing and staff is very receptive and kind. Room is very comfortable and has an extraordinary view. We were warmly welcomed by Jesus in the reception. Maria also assisted us in the best way she could. The bar and restaurant was very good and we were kindly served by Isabel with cocktails, waitors Giovani, Michelangelo and Ricardo. We had a problem with the shower late at our first night, that under circumstances caused some discomfort. However, it was resolved in the next morning and changed by a new one that was installed. Suggestion: maybe a room (any level) could have been offered just for taking a shower as we had a long day and drive to Bacalar, but I don't know if the hotel had any spare rooms available. Nevertheless, problem solved and Maria was very receptive to hearing us out and seek a solution. "
