Uma grata surpresa! Hotel excelente!
Fomos positivamente surpreendidos pela estrutura e por tudo que desfrutamos. O hotel é novo, com uma equipe simpática e prestativa. A comida, tanto no buffet quanto nos restaurantes à la carte, era excelente. As bebidas, inclusive no bar da piscina, eram bem preparadas. Praia, piscina e outras áreas comuns não deixaram a desejar. Era aniversário da minha esposa e, além de um mimo no quarto, tivemos uma pequena surpresa em um dos restaurantes. :) Um ponto positivo adicional é que o resort conta com outros hotéis, lojas e atrativos, com um serviço de ônibus gratuito para transfer entre esses locais. O único ponto negativo foi ter ficado em um quarto com um problema de infiltração, o qual só percebemos ao longo da estadia, especialmente após o mofo desencadear nossa alergia. Com uma inspeção mais detalhada, notamos no teto e atrás da cama as marcas da infiltração, explicando o odor estranho no quarto. Esperamos que esse problema seja resolvido. Apesar disso, pretendemos voltar, pois a experiência ofereceu um excelente custo-benefício. Foi, de fato, uma grata surpresa. Recomendamos o hotel.

O hotel é maravilhoso!! Esperávamos o tumulto de um resort enorme all inclusive porém foi outra experiência.. td mt tranquilo,espaço para todos os gostos.. realmente incrível! O atendimento de todos foi impecável, exceto pelo restaurante Agave. Fizemos uma reserva para as 21:30h, o garçom extremamente confuso, atrapalhado e não conseguimos terminar a nossa refeição pq a cozinha fechou! Eu entendo q existem horários, mas sugiro q a última reserva seja as 21h pois assim vc será capaz de terminar sua refeição como se deve. Único ponto q precisa de revisão.. o hotel é maravilhoso!!!

We spent 5 nights at this resort and overall it was a satisfying trip. If there is any recommendation I can make to the resort management is to provide a better orientation to guests when they arrive, perhaps make an app. We were given little information upon arrival and spent a lot of time trying to navigate the resort and what happens when. The resort is pretty quiet allowing for lots of rest and relaxation. There were loud groups at times in the pool but all in good fun. The service at the pool bar can be a bit slow. I would claim a seat at the pool in the morning if you plan to be by the pool for the day. The beach is also nice but the water is pretty rocky in that section but if you walk down toward the other resorts it’s better. Being able to go the other resorts was nice. The other resorts on the property have a lot of things to do verse the AO. They are family friendly though so if you are trying to avoid children all together I would stay at the AO unless it’s late night. The shuttle bus takes forever to pick you up and drop you off so keep that in mind with timing. The only terrible restaurant experience for us was La Comedie which is too bad because I saw good reviews. One downside on food is you cannot walk around with it. You have to eat at the buffet/restaurant/snack bar. Room service is available but costs extra. It was a great week in a beautiful resort.

My wife and I had a wonderful time at Barcelo Maya Riviera Adults Only Resort. Our room was Oceanfront and had a beautiful view of the Caribbean Sea. King size bed was huge with a nice walk in shower. Housekeeping cleaned everyday addition to being very gracious on giving us extra towels if needed. Property was also very clean as staff was always attentive and helpful. Our favorite part of our trip was the infinity pools. Our favorite one had the swim up bar and we just relaxed there overlooking the sea. Amazing view! We ate at 3 out of 4 restaurants. The Japanese Steakhouse Sapporo exceeded expectations! Lots of food and was so good. It was a fun experience where chef cooks everything in front of you. We definitely will return again! Thank you for a great experience!

It’s hard to list all of the positive things about this property. It was very modern, very clean easy to navigate and overall an amazing experience. The only critiques I have are not gonna stop me from recommending this place or ever going back. The room service not being included was very frustrating. I wish there was someplace by the beach whether they were grilling burgers chicken, making a taco bar or something along. Those lines would’ve been awesome. You had to go to the buffet if you wanted food during the day at any time. I absolutely love the beach. It is an amazing walk. Just be careful if you really like adults only and go to the other resorts there’s a lot of kids and the service there is not anywhere near as good as on the Maya Riviera resort. We had massages at both spas and both experiences were amazing. The pool at the adults only resort is unbelievable. Again, I wish you could have food out by the pool. I understand it’s messy, but there’s nothing more frustrating than being wet and covered in sand and having to clean up just to go grab a quick bite.

Like any other resorts there are pros and cons. A few good things: big, clean & modern resort, massive & beautiful, comfortable California king size bed, good dinner with great ambiance, friendly staffs. Bad things: cannot have food by the pool, drinks were awful and watered down, no good place for good snacks when restaurants are closed. The one thing that was frustrating was when my husband and I checked out. They said we burrowed a black pant from the restaurant since there was a dress code. I told them that wasn't us and i told them to check their cameras. I even showed them proof that my husband had his own gray pant on because we took pictures at that restaurant. And after our dinner we went to another resort for bowling. We were not even there the time they accused us of taking this stupid pant. But they were still giving us a hard time. They owe us an apology but never did.

Everything was nice here visually. The food was sub par. Some of the restaurant options were not bad. Buffet, selection was good but quality needs work. Bland, to over salty. Very clean property and nice staff, however didn’t like that every restaurant required a reservation except for the buffet. This is the first time I’ve stayed at a resort in Cancun that didn’t offer beverage and food service in the beach area that was very disappointing and won’t be back for this reason.

This AO property is absolutely beautiful and the amenities are all new and modern. Premium checkin/out was much quicker and the premium building had a beautiful unobstructed view, however it was the most far from pools, restaurants, lobby, etc so make sure you like to walk. The food was nothing to rave about but it also was not bad anywhere we went and we tried several restaurants and buffets. Rodizzio and Dolce Vita were our two favorite restaurants. At AO it was very easy to find chairs on beach and at pool during all hours of day, this wasn’t the case at the other resorts connected to AO. Staff was friendly & accommodating but not overly friendly as other countries and resorts we visited. The pools and beach are stunning but there are a lot of rocks/coral when swimming so wear water shoes or be careful. Lots of people snorkeling, we saw sea turtles. Beach is very well maintained landscape - take note there are no shade umbrellas except for palm trees. Also the drinks seemed very watered down and sugary - best we enjoyed was gin/tonic/lime - make sure to bring your own insulated cup as they will fill it to top at no charge - also bottled water is very easy to get at any bar, buffet or restaurant. Nightly shows in lobby bar area were entertaining. Overall 9.5/10 & would definitely return. Keep in mind, it is a little over an hour and 15 min to airport so it’s worth the private transfer so you’re not stopping at every resort picking up and dropping off others.

We stayed at Barcelo Riviera Maya Adults Only and were in a Premium Level Junior Swim Up Room. The resort is impeccable! The staff were very friendly, alway happy to assist with questions and such. The buffet was very nice and we ate breakfast and lunches there and never had an issue. We ate at the a la cartes for our dinners and again, fantastic food, service and atmosphere. The room itself was super clean, quiet (we were about 12 rooms away from the main stage. If out on our deck we could hear the music but inside with the patio door closed, complete quiet with blackout blinds. We went to the beach and or pool daily and never had an issues getting lounger chairs. As we were Premium Level at Adults Only we had access to the other 5 connected Barcelo Resorts (the family friendly ones) but didn’t explore too much. We had 1 hour per day privileges at the spa for Hydrotherapy which we used. We also did the on site dolphin interaction and it was very fun and well run. We tipped in Pesos (20 for small interactions, buffet chefs, etc./50 Pesos for buffet wait staff and 100 for a la carte staff, housekeeping and the fridge restocking staff) We absolutely can recommend this resort and will be returning soon.

Absolute WORST experience I’ve ever had. Tons of rules-couldn’t care less-resort. The food is terrible and service is trash. Room was moldy and not properly cleaned. AC filter wasn’t replaced in years. Front desk is very incompetent and nobody said a word about beach towel cards. At guest service it takes forever to make reservations for restaurants and food was mediocre. Food poisoning? Yes! of course. This place and the employees should be completely ashamed of themselves and how they treat their guests. You have to pay for room service and food arrived cold after hours of waiting. The day before our check out, someone decided to take out the tray with plates, take the tips and do not clean the room even if we requested housekeeping in the morning. Rude employee from front desk Ingrid was telling me four times how important is to press green light in the room instead of apologizing about this situation. She did mention unfortunately they have just one housekeeper after hours for 850 rooms. The buffet? You might like their 6 types of beans. Lol. They surprised us every day with overcooked or undercooked food. Seems that all those reviews on Google are fake.

This is our second year staying at Barceló Maya Riviera and we cannot wait to return. We like that we can walk to other resorts on the grounds and eat and shop and swim (and it's good exercise). We like walking along the private beach, too. We have taken the bus to/from other resorts. The food and drinks are good at each resort buffet, grill near pools and specialty restaurants (need reservations unless Premium). Maya Riviera does not allow guests under 18 and not all other resorts have access to Maya Riviera, so it is generally not as crowded as the other resorts. That being said, we were disappointed to learn that folks from the other resorts received a FREE UPGRADE to stay at Maya Riviera. Our room had a few issues (funky smell, slow drain in 1 sink, noisy ceiling fan, hot tub drain plug didn't pop up, 1 light in shower burned out, fridge not very cold, and mattress needs replacing), but overall we are very happy staying at Maya Riviera. It is very clean and staff is friendly.

It was honestly a great stay: the staff and service is excellent, food is really good, pool amazing and the beach great. The only thing that made me hesitate if I should rate it a 5 or not is the front desk: we had a very basic check in (no welcome drinks, no details on dining options or spa offers which we were entitled to… we had to figure these out by ourselves). Same below average experience at the check out. Nevertheless, a great experience for everything else that the hotel has to offer.
