"We thoroughly enjoyed our time. Stay Awhile has all the little touches you might need. The bedding was very comfortable, with handsome, high-quality sheets. There are very pretty shutters on the windows that you can close or open to let the light in. The couch is very cozy with a nice TV there. The kitchen has a spacious refrigerator, and the icemaker works great. It's a full kitchen with all you need to prepare food, and there is an island, which is also nice to prep on. "My husband and I were looking for a place to escape the city. This was it! The house was on top of a hill, overlooking a pasture. The owner did an amazing job of setting up several types of feeders to attract different types of birds. I had my coffee on the porch in the morning, then we rested there again in the late afternoon. "We enjoyed our stay very much! Cute little house about 3 minutes from Main. The bed was really comfy and the bathroom really nice with both a great shower and garden tub. Had a little trouble with the step up to the bedroom and step down to the bathroom. My husband has a walker he uses and we weren’t aware of the steps but overcame the dilemma. Our Cooper dog loved the beautiful neighborhood walks in the evening and the deer sightings. Was lovely."

"When we arrived, we found mouse droppings on the bed, in the bathroom & dining room area. We had to wash the bedding and clean up. (So much for the cleaning fee, they charge!) Very disappointed in what our once favorite place to stay, has become. The past 2 times we've stayed, we've been dissatisfied with the cleanliness, which we brought to Gaustehaus Schmidt's attention. Decided to try again. Strike three, they're out. We'll have to search for another place, next time."
