Deer Ridge Cottage | Pet Friendly Country Property

This wonderful cottage is located on a hill in Cain City just a few miles from Fredericksburg. Cain City was once a thriving community. The railroad went right through the city and at that time Cain City was divided into numerous city lots, which had both homes and businesses including a bank. The owners of Deer Ridge Cottage offer the history of Cain City along with a map of how things used to look. They offer an interesting view of days gone by.

Deer Ridge Cottage sits on a hill that has wonderful views of the countryside and Fredericksburg. The front porch has comfy seating to enjoy these awesome views. You may want to have your camera ready to take photos of the deer scurrying about and the many birds attracted to the feeder on the porch year round.

The decorating in this cottage is elegant country with stained concrete floors and faux painted walls. Your hosts have created the cottage with warmth and comfort in mind for your stay. The décor offers some wonderful antiques. Inside is an open living room, dining room and fully equipped kitchen. The living room has a sofa with queen sleeper and rocker placed to enjoy the Satellite television. A table for four sits in front of a window to relish those wonderful outdoor views. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need for your stay. The bedroom has a king bed and the bath has a shower.

The cottage backs up to a cut in the hill, which is not a safe area for guests to climb, but there is plenty of room in front of the cottage to frolic and play or to relax and take a nap on the hammock. The roads in Cain City are also great areas for bicycling and walking. ** Pet friendly for a small additional fee**

The home is pet friendly and will accept up to two dogs. However, there is a pet fee of $27/dog/night. Due to the fact that HomeAway/VRBO does not allow us to charge for more than one dog at the time of booking, please let us know if you will be bringing more than one dog, so that we can make sure that you are charged the correct amount. If you bring more than one dog and do not let us know, you will be charged accordingly. Furthermore, please bring crates for your dogs and crate them in your absence from the house, do not allow the dogs on furniture or beds, and pick up and properly dispose of their waste. If these rules are not followed, there will be an additional $200 charge added to your reservation.

Please Note: You are renting a cabin in the Hill Country which means you may encounter wildlife (Snakes, Deer, Racoons, ETC). Please be aware of your surroundings, and take caution while driving at night. You may also encounter the various bugs, spiders, scorpions and mice that live in the country AND sometimes do make their way inside. All properties do utilize pest control services on a regular basis BUT this does not guarantee no pests or bugs will be visible.
