Whether I was heading out to explore the hubbub or grab a bite at nearby restaurants, everything was just outside the door. The room was stylish, with little touches that make a stay feel special. "A lovely cottage in a great location. The cottage has everything you need and the bedrooms are a good size too. There are several uneven, steep steps walking up to the cottage so I wouldn’t recommend it to people who are unsteady on their feet. The owners left some biscuits and milk on the fridge which was a nice gesture. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again in the future when visiting Whitby."

The kids were probably about 10-13 years old and were terribly loud, running up and down the stairs, screaming and yelling in the hallways and the teachers didn’t do anything about it. "The location of the cottage is excellent, right next to the river Esk and on a very quiet holiday park (in April anyway). There is an amazing viaduct over the river where there is bungy jumping every couple of weeks during the summer and you can walk over it into Whitby which is only 30 mins away on foot. This was primarily because the moment we arrived at the place we discovered the pets weren’t allowed anywhere beyond the ground floor and, if they were “well behaved” into the kitchen area.
