The listing was misleading — it gave the impression I was booking a private unit, when in reality it was just a single room in a shared space with a shared bathroom, kitchen and living room. That’s not what I was expecting, and it should have been made absolutely clear upfront. "The host cancelled our reservation around 11am that day. I did not receive any notification from Expedia, VBRBO, or the host while driving to Edmonton from Calgary. We arrived at the old bungalow house (no pictures of the exterior of the house itself posted, no wonder) around 6pm, and saw the driveway with 2 or 3 cars parked in it, That's when I checked my booking for the entry code to the house and saw it was cancelled a few hours earlier.
