Excellent property in Waikoloa Village. Clean, spacious, nice pool. There is a communal BBQ. There were chairs, an umbrealla, and coolers for use at the beach. Walking distance to the grocery store and some restaurants if needed. One of the best places we've rented on the island.

Good location and nice property. Sometimes a little traffic in the area but overall excellent value for our stay. We enjoyed the place and amenities. Would recommend for future travelers

Aloha we appreciated the convenience, cleanliness, and communication was good. Although it was a memorable stay, we did have a little negative feedback from neighbors downstairs as we did have young keiki and their little feet can sound a little noisy. So they pounded on the ceiling! Not very family friendly. But we did have a nice stay other than that. Mahalo a nui!

Debra was great to communicate with always. The condo was homey and bright and well appointed. Local market and stores within walking distance was good. Alot of road noise from traffic. Overall great stay!

Wonderful condo!

Aloha Debra, We absolutely loved your condo! It had everything we could possibly need, and was by far the cleanest condo we have ever stayed in! There was more road noise than we expected, but that was worth being able to have the windows open to let the cool breeze in. Much better than listening to an A/C. We will definitely be back again. Great rental

Great place to stay.

Lovely, very clean, comfortable condo. Had everything we needed and everything worked well. Unexpected downside was the significant traffic noise from the street just off the lanai that we found intrusive. This significantly limited our enjoyment of the lanai and we kept the sliding glass door closed to reduce the noise. This is the only reason we gave 4 stars. Everything else was great and we had easy communication with the owner and housekeeper.

We enjoyed our stay at the condo. We really loved having two separate bedrooms.

We enjoyed our stay at the condo. We really loved having two separate bedrooms so our son could sleep in his own room. We liked that both bedrooms had to sliding doors to let in fresh air. There were a couple of nights where it was too hot and we needed to turn on the window air conditioner however they were very very loud. We were also somewhat taken aback that though we stayed at the condo for 12 days, we were only left two spare rolls of toilet paper. When I inquired with the owner about this, she said we were responsible for purchasing anything above and beyond that amount of toilet paper. Considering how much we spent to stay at the condo over 12 days, this seemed pretty petty to us. Our only other concern was that the swimming pool in the complex was extremely cold and not well he heated, which did not allow us to use it as much as we would’ve preferred. We did appreciate how well stocked the kitchen was in terms of appliances and utensils in the quality of the appliances. The location is excellent with easy access to restaurants and shopping.

Very spacious, very clean and confortable

We loved our stay in Debra’s condo.We are 2 adults with 2 children (8 and 12). The condo is spacious, very clean and beatiful. The kids were so happy about the twin beds and their own bathroom. It is so closed from a KTA grocery and a gas station. We visited the north and went to a free Hula shows 2 times (10min from the condo). Mahalo Debra!

Convenient Location

The condominium location is very convenient to reach all parts of the island in the least amount of time whether it be Hilo, North Kohala, Kailua-Kona, Mauna Kea summit, and most of the best beaches. Even when it is hot and humid at lower elevations it is usually pleasant here and if the trades are blowing it's fantastic. Owner is very responsive and the on-site manager, Ken, is a jewel. Remodel to kitchen and bathrooms is quite nice. Kitchen is well kitted out with typical cooking needs. The grocery across the street is large and well stocked and there's a Lava Java cafe and other restaurants in the center too. Great view of Mauna Kea from the front landing of the condo when it's clear. There is only one real drawback here, and it has been mentioned by others. It is the reason for 4-stars instead of 5. There is a 4-lane road right in front of the lanai which currently serves as the only access to the residential area and new construction beyond. Thankfully, it's usually quiet at night when the commuting hours are over. Speed limit is posted at 25mph but the locals generally ignore it. We observed motorists going at least 40. There is a crosswalk (with yellow flags to use) if you take the short walk to the shopping area. Be extra careful, especially if you go after dark. Our daughter almost got hit when one motorist stopped and one in the far lane did not. As to parking, the description indicates parking for one car. DO NOT come with more than one, there is NO place to put it legally within reasonable walking distance.

On Balance...

The Hills is conveniently located within walking distance of Waikoloa Village's only grocery store. Jump in your car and it's only a ten or fifteen minute drive to a beautiful beach. The golf course is so close, it can be seen from your lanai. Unfortunately, the view from the lanai also takes in the Village's busy, main road. The problem is the sound of the cars going by, not the view, which is actually very nice. If you're the type to be out exploring the Island all day, this fact shouldn't be too big of a deal. On the other hand, if you're like my elderly parents, who ended up spending most of their month long visit just hanging out at 'home', you might find the road noise to be something of a problem. The condo's ceilings are beyond vaulted; they might better be described as cathedral. Their great height, along with the help of a giant sized ceiling fan, keeps the living area comfortable at the hottest part of the day. Mind you, it was only March and summers here can be far hotter. The upstairs bedrooms got to be warm, but nothing the window-mounted ac units couldn't handle. Then there are the winds that Waikoloa is famous for, just slide open the glass doors off the bedrooms and enjoy the cross breeze. The condo is on the second floor, just two short flights of stairs up to the front door. While I'd been concerned about this on account of my elderly parents, I should have been more worried about it being a two-story unit. Especially considering there is no bathroom on the main floor. I don't suppose the young and the fit will even notice such a thing, but elderly visitors might. Recently remodeled, the condo is attractive and clean, although the windows could have used a good cleaning. The kitchen is well-equipped for four people, including even a rice cooker and crock pot. Nicely furnished throughout, though an easy chair in the living room and maybe a small dining table would be an improvement. The outdoor dining table was appreciated, as were the stools along the kitchen counter, but they don't quite make up for a table indoors. My parents were mostly pleased with this accommodation. My mother got very sick during her stay and this meant that they spent more time in the condo than they might have otherwise. The length of their stay and then the particulars of their circumstance likely influenced their experience of the place. It's a good vacation rental needing only a few minor tweaks to make it even better.

Nicely remodeled Waikoloa Village Condo

This unit has been remodeled and is very comfortable. It is a short walk to the market, and a very good Italian restaurant. Both bedrooms and bathrooms are upstairs. The lanai does have a grill which was nice, but it faces a very busy street. The pool was also too cold to use. The location of the condo was convienent for exploring the north end of the island, and the surrounding neighborhoods were nice for walks.

Good location

We stayed in four apartments in Hawaii in August. This was the largest. The apartment is completely modern and very comfortable and perfectly clean. It's located a short drive from some of the best beaches on the island and other wonderful activities. The apartment is a little impersonal and generic-feeling. The lead photo provided would give you the impression it's in a wooded area, but it looks out on a fairly busy road next to a golf course.

Fantastic get away!

We had a wonderful time staying at Debra's condo. Very clean and modern with beautiful furnishings and decor and stocked with just about everything you can imagine. Loved having the air conditioner in the bedroom, it made sleeping delightful. The condo is in a great location, getting to anyplace on the island is very easy. Great beaches nearby, the market and stores are right across the road. Yes, there is some traffic noise during the day, but we were mostly gone exploring during the days, so really wasn't an issue with us. Loved seeing and hearing the daily "Turkey Parade"....even saw a few newborn turkey chicks! Debra has a guide book in the condo called "Hawaii, The Big Island Revealed". It has a wealth of information about the island, be sure to read it!!! Debra is very responsive to any questions or problems that might arise and is great to work with, and is also very prompt with the damage deposit refund. All in all, we had a fabulous stay at this condo and hope we can stay here again in the future!

Excellent!

We loved our stay at Debra's condo. It is beautifully appointed with all the necessary amenities needed to make one comfortable. Upon arriving to the condo, we noticed the unit was very new and clean. The unit is up to date in decor and did not lack ambiance. The kitchen was well stocked with the necessary utensils and small appliances. It was very easy to prepare meals. The two bathrooms have been renovated and were stocked with crisp white towels. The master bedroom had a comfortable double bed with a good supply of extra linens. The unit has a window AC in each bedroom, however, we chose to use the ceiling fans and open the windows for fresh air. The location of the condo was perfect for us. There are beautiful beaches and golf courses locates 15 minutes away by car. A car is necessary if you choose to holiday in Waikoloa. We gave this condo a four rating because we heard cars and motorcycles from the streets. This condo this a fantastic unit for a couple or a family of four. We would definitely return.

Super charming condo in a fab location!

The Thomas Family's condo is a delight. Beautifully appointed and cozy, It's close to good restaurants, shopping, golf & tennis. We were greeted by the resident property manager, who was friendly and helpful. Other residents we encountered were friendly, too. We loved watching the wild turkeys wandering around. It was wonderful to be in the quiet of the village, but still only 10 minutes to superb beaches!

Fantastic attention to detail

We were seeking an escape from winter and had to contend with the weak Canadian dollar. Debra's condo was an amazing find. I really appreciate her attention to detail. She stayed in touch with us via text and ensured we had no challenges accessing the unit and was available if we had questions or concerns. The unit itself is beautifully staged. I like that everything form the flooring to appliances are still new and well maintained. The mattresses are very comfortable and good quality. The Wi-Fi was great and the details to access it was well documented, there were passes to the community pool and tennis courts, popular travel guides (the good ones everyone was reading on the plane) and magazines in the drawer. There were first aid kits and a hallway closet stocked with things like beach towels, bug spray, kids snorkeling gear, tennis rackets, beach chairs and an umbrella. There were labels throughout the unit which made it easier to get settled quickly and get familiar with the devices throughout the unit. The kitchen was better equipped than any condo I've ever rented. I could cook, bake, BBQ and prep with ease. We enjoyed dining on the deck and watching the wild chickens wandering around. Debra thought of so many extra touches like providing high quality laundry detergent pods and dryer sheets. Everyone on site was friendly & helpful from the on site manager to the landscaping team to neighbors who welcomed us and helped us have a more "local" experience. There is great pride in ownership throughout this unit and I would definitely return again. If I had to nit pick, I wish that the small windows had black out curtains rather than white blinds but this is not a big deal. I covered them with a beach towel when I wanted to sleep in. Overall, a superb value.

Debra's property exceeded our expectations in every way. Better than advertised. Debra was easy to work with, prompt and efitiant in all our interactions. We would have to say the only minor detractor was the morning traffic as it's quite close and fairly noisy, it definatly negated our hope for a relaxing morning coffee on the lenia. We did find the location of the property advantageous as it was centrally located. Nothing wrong with zipping up to Wilamena for our A.M Java than taking it down to Spencer Park to enjoy it on the beach. We will be back and we will recommend this property to our friends.

Perfect Getaway!

After a stressful week full of meetings and work obligations, I decided that I needed a tropical getaway. My partner and I quickly found tickets to the Big Island. This place was more than we expected !! For the next four days we got to play golf, cook great meals, and relax on the lanai . We walked every morning to grab coffee and pick up snacks at the grocery store.The neighbors are really friendly and made the experience that much better. I highly recommend this place as it is away from other tourist but close to all the attractions. After the four days I spent there ,I was able to go back to work and bring some of the Aloha spirit with me ! Mahalo!
