"Hosts were incredibly friendly, warm and receptive. Their dogs (hypoallergic poodles) were the cutest to play with and well-behaved. The room itself (Library Room) is cozy and rustic with more than enough things we needed. Some items like toothpaste are lacking but I'm sure that if you ask the hosts, you'll be able to get one anyway. Overall, the experience was incredible and I would recommend this place to everyone! It is a little older however they have gone above and beyond with adding the extras in the rooms then many hotels ie. on pillowcases it is embroidered what the pillow rates soft firm etc. what a nice little touch. Great location and lots of parking. Rates reasonable as well."

"Fridge did not work. Poop stuck to the outside of the toilet. Black mold behind the toilet and sink. We had two homeless people drinking outside our room at the table and chairs out front which we told the front desk when morning cam one was passed out on the table. Called to ask for the manager or manager and was told manager was away for the next couple day but would get him to call. After a few days we did not hear back and we called them was told the manager was not still not available, the...

"Was so pleasantly surprised by our stay here. Great facilities with the gym and pool, really lovely and friendly staff, decent breakfast, clean room looking into the trees was perfect for our family of 4."

"The Cottage and Castle is absolutely charming, beautifully decorated and situated in a lovely neighborhood of colourfully painted houses and As well it is anIt’s a real gem. However as we returned after an evening out the stench in the air from a soil, composting, wastewater and recycling treatment plant was overwhelming. I there is a solution to this as Chemainus is a charming town and the Cottage and Castle was exceptional! "

"I think it was a good place to stay. It's a bit loud near the highway but the window is very good at blocking the sound. Better than you'd expect for the price."

"Staff and cleanliness were fantastic. They actually had a nice place to get water coffee tea and treats at all times which was so lovely. Also had a lounge to have Sherry with other guests from 5-7. Locations was great little extras they supplied was appreciated. Nice stay. The only thing I would say is you can hear other guests although everyone was respectful. "Oh boy...I greatly dislike writing negative reviews. While Chemainus is adorable, the location is fantastic and the exterior is a dream...this aint it. Mouldy drapes, a number of amenities were broken (electric fireplace, mouldy fridge), no wifi, questionably clean bedsheets. And (I have photos as proof) a white substance residue left on the counter next to the bed. I will say that the indoor jet tub was amazing! I swear I heard a cough below us at one point and noticed a little door that looked...

"Terrible. Would not recommend. Booked a deluxe 2 bedroom they gave us a 1 bedroom told me that is what I booked I have the reservation details in front of me and it clearly says 2 bedroom deluxe villa. The manager talked over me and was not very nice. I would not stay at this hotel "
