The apartment takes its name from Maemuna, a legendary young woman from Vernazza. According to local folklore, she hid from Saracen pirates in a sea cave below the village, enchanting sailors with her songs. On stormy nights, locals say her voice can still be heard echoing among the rocks — a view you can glimpse directly from the apartment windows.
