Scaldaferro is the ancient Venetian house of the Scaldaferro family, well-known confectioners of the Riviera del Brenta since 1800. It is composed of some independent rooms with private bathroom and common use of kitchen and living room. It overlooks the river Brenta and the ancient square of Mira Porte, a quiet and picturesque place. It is only 19 km from Venice city center, 25 km from Padua city center and 4 km from Fusina. In this square the horses of the tirabarche were changed, an ancient profession that provided for the towing of the barges along the river by means of two pairs of horses positioned on the opposite banks. The square has been painted by many painters, including the Canaletto.
