The Space: Balandras Beach House #2 is a cozy and modern 400 sq ft studio located within Balandras Beach House, a private 4-unit complex in Cerro Gordo, Vega Alta, Puerto Rico. Guests enjoy direct beach access and a shared pool area designed for relaxation and convenience. The complex includes lounge chairs, outdoor seating and dining areas, an outdoor kitchen with BBQ, bathrooms by the pool, and a shared washer and dryer in the common area. The property is close to Cerro Gordo State Park, which offers miles of trails ideal for hiking, trail running, and mountain biking.
This well-appointed studio offers simple yet stylish furnishings with a clean and relaxed beach vibe. Balandras Beach House #2 sleeps up to 2 guests, making it perfect for solo travelers or couples seeking a peaceful coastal escape.
LIVING AREA AND KITCHEN
The open-concept living space includes a comfortable sofa and a TV. The kitchenette is equipped with a 2-burner stove, microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator/freezer, along with basic cookware and utensils for light meal preparation. Guests can also take advantage of the outdoor BBQ gazebo by the pool for relaxed outdoor dining.

Balandras Beach House #2 accommodates up to 2 guests and has one full bathroom:

GUEST ACCESS:
Guests staying at Balandras Beach House #2 will have:

- Use of the unit’s modern amenities, including Wi-Fi and air conditioning.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
- Please keep in mind that the pool is a shared space. We kindly ask all guests to use it responsibly and respect others staying on the property.
- Quiet hours and respectful behavior ensure everyone enjoys their stay.
- No events or large gatherings are allowed.
- If you are interested in renting additional space within the complex, Balandras Beach House offers other options: House #1 is a 2-bedroom unit, House #3 is a 1-bedroom unit, and House #4 is a beachfront 4-bedroom unit. Please send us a message if interested.
PACK AND PLAY (SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY):
We can leave a complimentary Pack and Play at the property upon request. This should be requested upon booking or no later than 5 days before arrival. Pack and Plays are subject to availability.
GETTING AROUND
Renting a car is a must when staying in Vega Alta. The property includes parking for up to 2 vehicles. You will need it to move around to nearby restaurants and shops as well as to explore the rest of the island.
LOCATION
Balandras Beach House #2 is located in Vega Alta. Well known among locals for its excellent location, and world-class beach. Vega Alta is an easy 40-minute drive from the airport and has a wide array of dining options nearby.
Take advantage of the Balandras Beach House amenities for an amazing day at Cerro Gordo Beach, or enjoy the pool and BBQ area for a relaxing afternoon with family and friends.
There are many things to do in the surrounding areas, here are our top picks:
- Explore the local culinary scene with everything from Puerto Rican specialties to excellent Italian and Asian options. - Road trip to the Dorado public beach, just a 5-minute drive away. This beach is almost a mile long and features various beachfront restaurants and bars, perfect for beachcombing. - Shop at the Barceloneta Outlets, a 30-minute drive away, offering a variety of shopping and dining options. - Spend a day in Old San Juan, a 30-minute drive away. It is the oldest city in all of the US and full of history, colorful streets, and cultural experiences. - Hike the Cerro Gordo State Park. The entire loop is 3 miles long and takes about an hour and fifteen minutes to complete. For safety, hike in the opposite direction of mountain bikers and use a trail app such as All Trails.
TRAVEL INSURANCE
We strongly recommend that all guests purchase travel insurance, especially during the peak months of Hurricane Season, which are July to October. Travel insurance is inexpensive and will reimburse travelers for most expenses associated with canceling travel outside of the cancellation window; however, this will depend on what the coverage purchased covers. Make sure to review and understand the options before purchase. Disclaimer: we are not associated with any travel insurance companies.
AMENITIES
West Indies strives to deliver top-notch service and amenities to guarantee our guests feel at home while visiting our properties. All of our properties are outfitted with freshly laundered bed linens and towels. We provide 2 bath towels per guest and 1 beach/pool towel per guest. Our properties typically include at least 2 beach chairs and an ice cooler.
West Indies provides the disposable amenities necessary to get your vacation off to a comfortable start. These amenities include 1 set of hotel size soaps and shampoos per bathroom, 3 garbage bags, 1 roll of paper towel, 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, 1 dish soap, 1 dish sponge, and a small amount of laundry detergent. We do not provide unlimited disposable amenities. It is your responsibility to review what is included in the property and stock with whatever else may be needed for the duration of your stay.
HOUSE RULES
Check-in time is at 4:00 pm Check-out time is at 11:00 am NO SMOKING: Smoking is strictly prohibited. A smoking fee of $500 will be charged if violated. NO PETS: No pets are allowed at any time. A $300 fine will be charged if violated and you will be expelled from the property. Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. Please keep noise levels down during these hours out of respect to the neighbors. The host will not pay for a hotel, vacation rental, or transportation expenses incurred because of an interruption in water or electrical service. If water or electricity is interrupted for more than 3 hours, guests have the option of canceling their reservation and requesting a refund for the nights not used. Under no circumstances will we refund consumed nights. All bookings are contingent on signing a short-term rental agreement that will be sent via email. It must be signed within 48 hours of booking or before entering the property, whichever happens first. Maximum occupancy of 2 adults/children at all times. This includes visitors. Max. occupancy is strictly enforced and exceeding it may result in immediate cancellation of booking or being expelled from the property. Towels and linens must only be used for their intended purpose. Do not stain them with food, grease, or any other substance. Do not use towels to clean up any mess. Stained towels/linens will be charged. Do not hang towels from the balcony or windows. A $100 fine may be applied if you break this rule. Subletting not allowed The pool is shared with three other units, so we kindly ask all guests to make good use of it and to maintain respectful behavior at all times. If pool rules are not followed, guests may be asked to leave the area.
POOL RULES
Pool hours are from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Coolers, floaters, speakers, balls, food, or drinks are not allowed.
