Welcome to Matterhorn 1546 by Mountain Vacation Lodging. This half duplex home offers 4-Bedrooms plus a loft, 3 recenly updated bathrooms, and a private hot tub that is brand new for the 24 - 25 ski season. This home is warm, welcoming, comfortable, and affordable. The location is in town and convenient - close to the Cascade Chairlift, 2 of Vail's Free Bus stops, and Donovan Park. With 4 bedrooms plus a loft, guests at Matterhorn 1546 will enjoy 5 separate sleeping areas. Among them, there are 7 individual beds, including 2 king size beds, a Full (Double) bed, and 4 Twins, making this home ideal for groups with couples and single adults or kids. Please read on for more details.
The Property: Your group will have 3 levels with plenty of space to spread out! On the main and middle level, the home features a very nice and open main living area which combines the living and dining rooms into one large space. In the middle of the room you have a real wood burning fireplace with natural stone, cast iron doors, wood mantle, it's beautiful and creates a nice ambiance. The room feels very large yet cozy thanks to the vaulted tongue and groove ceilings with exposed beams. Large windows let in lots of natural light, including a bay window by the dining room table. The furniture is comfortable and there's room for your whole group to gather together. Of course there's a large HDTV, plus some board games for your entertainment. Off the living room is large back deck with your private hot tub. The old back deck was removed and replaced with a larger version in 2024, to accommodate the brand new hot tub. What better way to relax after a day of adventure! Also on the main level is the kitchen, which is a good size. You'll find that it is fully equipped with everything you need, plus you get some mountain views from the kitchen sink. This main level also includes a bathroom with a shower and the washer/dryer.
Bedroom 1 is found on the upper level. It features a King size bed, vaulted ceilings, a private balcony, and plenty of space. Bedroom 1 is a bedroom suite, with a private ensuite bathroom that includes a dual sink vanity and heated floors, which is a really nice thing to have. This ensuite bathroom also includes a big walk-in shower with dual shower heads and a glass door. This upper level also includes a loft bedroom, which has 2 Twin beds. Guests sleeping here can either share the master bathroom or head down to the bathroom on the main level. They will probably want to use the bathroom within bedroom 1, since it's right there, and so nice, but if you want privacy, just have them use the bathroom right down the stairs! Bedrooms 2, 3, and 4 are on the lower level. Bedroom 2 is the largest, and easily accommodates the King size bed. Bedroom 3 has has a full size bed, also known as a double. This bedroom also has a TV, and could work well for one single adult, a couple, or 1-2 kids. Bedroom 4 has 2 Twin beds and works well for 2 single adults or 2 kids. Bathroom 2 is the lower-level bathroom, and like the first bathroom, has been nicely updated. Renovations brought heated floors, a brand new shower/tub with glass doors, and a new vanity, sink, lighting and more. Remember, Bathroom 3 is on the main level, right upstairs, so the sharing of bathrooms is no big deal.
The Location: This home is conveniently located, but unlike a lot of Vail, it also feels quiet and private. This home is in the town of Vail, on Matterhorn Circle, near the Cascade Village chairlift. The home has a convenient location, and unlike a lot of places Vail, it also feels quiet and private. Getting around is easy. With two of Vail's free bus stops right down the street, you can choose from multiple bus routes for the quickest service to various parts of town. Winter ski season guests will have the option to walk to the Cascade chairlift. It's only about a 10 minute walk, and on the way home, shorter and easier. Ask us for details. If that doesn't sound great to you, then you can take the easier, shorter walk to the free city bus, which picks up just a couple hundred yards from the home, by Donovan Park. That same bus will go one stop and then drop you off next to the Cascade chairlift. Very convenient! Of course, you could stay on the bus and head toward the busier Lionshead or Vail Village chairlifts and gondolas, but the Cascade chair is the way to go. You'll only ride the bus more than one stop if you're headed to the busier areas for dining or nightlife! Summer guests will really love the location. Gore Creek is right down the hill. The Gore Creek trail is a paved path along the creek and offers a great way to stroll, jog, or bike throughout Vail. No need to drive. Enjoy the beauty of the area and get some fresh air as you explore! Donovan Park, which is just a couple hundred yards from the home, offers a playground for kids, a pavilion and outdoor spaces that play host to events and activities, plus there are even some tennis courts.
Arrival, Access, and Parking: Once you book, we're here to support you before during and after your stay. We will provide you with a digital guide for your vacation home that includes arrival instructions, reference information for the home and community, as well as locak information, tips, recommendations, and more. Our team is happy to answer any specific questions you might have. Access to this home requires one step to enter, and there are multiple levels within the home, so it is not wheelchair friendly. Parking is free and reserved for owners and guests of the home. It is a duplex, but the parking for this half of the home includes a 1 car garage, one large space immediately in front of the garage, plus 2 more spaces off to the side. There's so much parking that you might choose to use the garage for your skis, boards, bikes, or other gear. Even small trailers might be okay. Just let us know if you plan to have one, and how large it might be, to make sure it will be okay.

Pets AND Service Animals are NOT PERMITTED in the property or on the premises. This is a privately owned home and is a PET FREE property. Due to the existence of pet allergies, this home is marketed and maintained as free of pet hair and dander. Allowing pets or service animals would result in a fundamental alteration of the nature of the property, and may pose a direct threat to the health and safety of others. We never used the unit. No snow in Vail. I think that working with an individual owner vs a management company would have made for a better experience in all of our interactions.

West Vail
We enjoyed our stay and will be back again. The location and price were very good! Beds were comfortable and the unit was very clean. Overall it was close to a five star package. We dont mind taking the shuttle buses so being away from the village is not a factor.

Ski week at Vail
Great condo within walking distance to the free shuttle bus and/or cascade lift. There are trout in the creek so don’t forget your fly rod. The camera facing the hot tub is a bit uncomfortable. Kitchen has everything you need in it for making meals. Beds are comfortable.

Close to Lionshead Gondola
The townhouse was less than 5 minutes from the Lionshead gondola. With 5 sleeping areas, the townhouse provided more than ample space for me and two other men residing in the house. The property was well-equipped with all required appliances, kitchen utensils, plates, pots and pans. I was pleasantly surprised to find seasonings and other food staples in the kitchen. All and all, we had a very pleasant stay and would highly recommend this property.

We loved the cabin and everything in it.
We did not like that Expedia showed a total amount when paying and was charged $57 more dollars than what was shown. Contac Expedia and said that was with Vrbo, they say their fee was missing the tax which was NOT shown at time of paying. Contact MOUNTAIN VACATION LODGING OF VAIL & BEAVER CREEK which were the ones who send our confirmation and said they never have contact with Vrbo they just put the properties on their web page. So not Expedia, nor Vrbo, nor MOUNTAIN VACATION LODGING OF VAIL & BEAVER CREEK will return our $57 usd.
We’ve been using Expedia for over 23 years and this never happened before.

Best bang for your dollar in Vail.
This property is perfect for a group on a Vail vacation. It has plenty of room and beds. A well stocked kitchen and even a washer and drier. It is a short walk to the free shuttle into Vail or if your skiing and don’t mind a little longer walk you can walk to the Cascade Lift. We did both. It has parking for two vehicles. I had a question and called the property manager and they picked up on the first ring. They called back within 10 minutes with my answer. An all around great spot and I highly recommend a stay here.

Great option for groups
Our group enjoyed our stay. Plenty of space for everyone and nearby the mountain. The house was also very clean and well-stocked with the essentials for a long weekend, including plenty of wood for the fireplace.
