I normally stay at other hotels when I'm at the Sea of Galilee, but they were all booked up. Royal Plaza was definitely below the standards of the more popular hotels in the area like the Gai Beach, the Ron Beach, etc. First of all Royal Plaza has major construction taking place on its doorstep. When I opened the curtains in my room, all I saw were cranes & bulldozers. The noise from the heavy machinery deafened me from sunrise to just past sunset each day. Secondly, Royal Plaza has closed off parts of its hotel. I wanted to use the gym each day, & I was told that it is in the closed area of the hotel. I was frustrated by how much I paid to stay at a hotel with shut areas & noisy construction. Finally the food was definitely the part of the hotel that needs the most help. The food service & choices were very subpar compared to the competition around them.
