"Good location for the local county fair"

"A lovely cottage in a peaceful location. Lovely hosts and very accommodating to our family and doggies. Would definitely visit again!"

"Well appointed with all the amenities we could want, and more. Spotless throughout, plus a very comfortable bed. The most beautiful setting in a storybook village! I came here to see and experience where my great grandmother was born, and was overwhelmed with the beauty of this very special place! I will never forget Rowan Cottage and Wanlockhead!! "

"Very nice newly decorated cottage. Very clean and tidy. Easy to find quiet location."

"Heating and hot water."

"Fabulous accommodation in a very lovely location to Town center. Host extremely welcoming and helpful. Highly recommended."

"A lovely county castle surrounded by Belted Galloway cattle and sheep. The castle grounds have a fruit trees, herbs and vegetables. Tobias is truly a wonderful gentleman and host. He prepared an amazing breakfast both mornings which consisted of local flavors ( haggis, blood pudding, potato cakes, eggs, bacon and sausage). Tobias gave us a tour of the chapel and grand hall with interesting history. Baron James prepared a formal dinner which was also delicious. We are Maxwell descendants by DNA...

"A beautiful and tastefully decorated cottage, well-equipped and peaceful. We enjoyed sitting out in the enclosed garden that looks lovingly maintained."
