"We stayed for 1 night in June. We were originally allocated a room on the ground floor near the bar area, which under normal circumstances would have been fine, the room itself was very nice. However, we have a child undergoing cancer treatment and she would not have settled. "Booked a double room but got a room with 3 single beds. Not the end of the world but not what I booked. Beds were uncomfortable. Mattress was really thin, when you sat on it you were basically sat on the bed base and when you laid on the bed you could feel the springs in your back and side. "Very pleasant stay. Food offerings not as good as I had hoped, especially in the Grill. Disappointed that the restaurant was closed on Monday and Tuesday but afternoon tea was good. Staff attentive and rooms clean. Lovely setting."
