"Didnt have my booking on the system, appeared to give me the reserve room that they use for last case scenarios. The stairwell ran diagonally above the bed so every time someone walked up the stairs it boomed through just above your head. Hidden charges for using the gym. Main reception in a different building. Free parking was the only decent part. "

"Owners were very friendly and helpful, little touches like home made muffins and lemon curd set places apart Also I’m over 6ft and easily fit into the stand alone bath, great for relaxing the muscles after a day walking "

"Friendly check in - had already been sent online registration form so very smooth. Room clean and nicely furnished and bathroom obviously recently fitted. Hadn't intended to eat in the restaurant but having ventured into Workington and been unable to find anything inviting, we were squeezed in even though it was a busy Friday evening. Glad we did as the food was very good. Only negative of the stay was the road noise but that was the compromise for getting a lovely mountain view."

"Lovely spot and will be amazing when the work is complete Our room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was great and freshly cooked to order and all the staff were pleasant and helpful. Yes there is a lot of building work/renovations taking place but we knew that beforehand and no issue."

"Hall is looking tired on the outside with visable broken and boarded up windows at the very top. Room was dated, we stayed in the Munro studio, no windows that open and looks directly onto the back entrance so needed to keep blinds down otherwise people could see straight in as this is a ground floor room. Opposite kitchen so could smell the cooking. What made this stay was the lovely staff and evening meals were great"

"Really helpful team - we needed to collect keys early to attend a wedding and the team not only accomodated this but letbus check in to change Clean, tidy room with everything you need for a short stay. Utterly idyllic views brilliant location "

"Good- All the Staff are friendly and helpful Bar and restaurant areas are all decorated lovely Really great location just next to harbour and good view Good choice of food for breakfast and ordered and served to the table. Coffee and tea Fruit juice Cereal or tinned fruit Full English Toast Or crumpets All the general areas, toilets and bedrooms very clean Not so good- Our room needs redecorated ( room 6) Large stain on carpet and many marks on walls with very old shabby curtains...

"We had a lovely one night stay. We were warmly greeted and our room was spacious, up quite a few stairs so beware if you have heavy cases. We enjoyed a swim in the pool and used the hot tub. A well equipped gym was also available. The pool was very clean and a pleasant temperature. These facilities were all included in the room price but there is a limited timetable when you can use the pool due to lesson and member sessions. We ate dinner at the hotel which was very tasty and well presented....

"A clean and welcoming local hotel. Good facilities. Great value for money. We loved the cooked breakfast. Would def think of staying again. Quiet surroundings. Good facilities. Places to sit, enjoy the bar. We had a sofa in our room to relax. "
