"Lovely old building. As described online. Ate in the restaurant that evening. Food was ok but the staff lacked a little knowledge where the meals were concerned. Couldn’t answer what veg came with certain meals. What sort of pastry the pie was made with. Partners salad was drowning in Caesar sauce"

"Nice comfortable bed, shower room good. Old building mostly 18th century. Owner looked after us well."

"Fabulous location within walking distance of everything we wanted to see and do. Very helpful polite and friendly staff at reception, in the bar and restaurant, and at breakfast. We stayed in the old building rather than the annex and, as is often the case with old buildings, there were some quirks but nothing that was a problem. We would happily stay there again if in the area."

"Nice hotel, rooms are big for English standards and very close to supermarket, shops, etc. Parking is not free but was charged only 5GBP for day, so that was ok. The only downside was that we were traveling with a lot of bags and they do not have an elevator, anyway, they have only 2 floors so we had to go only one flour up. Overall nice stay with no issues."

"A beautiful shiny new hotel with well thought through design and such aesthetic decor. The staff were helpful and went out of their way to make sure we had a pleasant stay. The roof top bar was a definite plus, with fab views, it just made the weekend for me and my friend who had a long overdue catch up. So close to the station, an easy weekend away."

"Stayed in the 'Dunlin room' Very poor lighting in the corridor. Wallpaper patched up poorly in the corridor by the bedrooms. Noisy extractor fan in our bathroom. Breakfast a little underwhelming, (overdone bacon and chewy sausage. Staff very attentive and polite. No signal on the tv celestial channels on two days. Limited bathroom amenities. Cobwebs on the windows in the breakfast area. "

"The room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was small but functional. There is no parking at the hotel or near area which is very problematic. The breakfast was extra but a reasonable cost at £25 for two people. The egg was over cooked and the bacon was unusual."

"Roy and another young lady were there to check us into the two-level luxury room and very kind and helpful. It was spacious, clean, and comfortable. AC kept us cool in a heatwave. Excellent espresso maker and tea kettle. Refrigerator with real milk inside was a nice touch. Centrally located. Everything you could need easily walkable.
