Villa Ixora is an 'au natural' villa cooled only by the tropical trade winds of the Caribbean.

As you leave the powder white sands and calm turquoise waters of Maho Bay, you travel a national park mountain road bordered by towering palm trees and other lush vegetation. At 1000 feet you ascend a steep private drive and behold a gorgeous Caribbean villa opening to spectacular views; you've arrived at Ixora.
Ixora is the former home of the late Stephen Ambrose bestselling author and historian.The HBO series Band of Brothers was based on his book.
Your sense of awe will be further enhanced as you step inside Ixora and survey this very beautiful and private, 5 bedroom, 4 bath, luxury home. Ixora consists of 3 traditionally styled buildings connected by decks, tiled walkways, and a garden patio.
A 60 foot pool, surrounded by a 75 foot deck, a dining gazebo, abundant deck furniture, and stunning views provide a delightful daytime playground. At night the low voltage site lights, the breathtaking view, tranquil privacy and the fabled Caribbean moonlight all combine to produce an irresistibly romantic, peaceful, and relaxing evening setting.

The price is based on the number of people who occupy the property. Nightly rate is based on a 1-4 occupancy. Each additional guest above 4 is charged a per person per nights fee. Please enter the correct TOTAL number of guests including children when booking the property. Only paying guests are allowed on the property.

Ixora does NOT have air conditioning.

This house exceeded all expectations from the views, the pool, hottub and the beach chairs and convenience of location mid island with a very short trip to the beaches. We loved every minute of our very comfortable stay. Also, the beds were so comfortable and private- away from the main house made our sleep so refreshing. Thanks for allowing us to stay in your island dream.

This property is gorgeous! The 3 separate buildings add to the island feel. The main building opens on all sides to enjoy the breezes. The location is great for beaches, Cruz Bay and Coral Bay. Although there is no air conditioning, the breezes and fans lend to a good nights sleep. Waking up to the sunrise over the ocean was delightful! The only issue we had was with the mosquitos - with no AC, the main building was open and it got a bit buggy. The bedrooms have screens, so no issue there. Bring lots of bug spray and enjoy!

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Ixora. The villa made for a very relaxing setting and we enjoyed the beauty of Coral Bay from the deck at the house. Would be a great property for multiple families or families with older children.

We enjoyed our stay at Villa Ixora. The home was well situated for exploring the entire island and felt private despite it's location near a main road. It was clean and the kitchen was well equipped. There were plenty of bath and beach towels as well as coolers and beach chairs. Our only complaint is that water leaked in around the windows/through the walls in one of the bedrooms every time it rained (which it did for a little bit on several days of our vacation). One night of particularly heavy rain led to water leaking from the ceiling in two different areas (onto our bed and next to our bed onto the floor). From the looks of the ceiling this was not the first time this had occurred. We were told rain might come in from the windows and we should close them if it rained, but this water came in even with the windows closed.

Beautiful villa, perfect for four ladies ready to get away from the snow. Everything you need for a great stay, comfortable and safe. We brought in groceries for breakfast and cocktails, ate a lete lunch to avoid driving the winding roads in the dark. Be prepared to rent a jeep to get around, and drive on the left side.

This house was everything we needed for a comfortable 2 family vacation. The villa design allowed for privacy and space to spread out. Our kids loved the pool and the adults loved the views which were truly stunning. The kitchen was fully stocked with any accessory we could need and the house was also stocked with plenty of beach and bath towels. You donā€™t need to bring extra. The only negative was we did have one day of rain and the master bedroom window seal was compromised so there was a bit of water that puddled on the floor but it was easy enough to sop up with some towels and move on with life. Definitely saw our fair share of jungle critters but if thatā€™s not your thing, donā€™t come to the Caribbean. In an open air villa, you need to expect some sharing of the environments :) We would not hesitate to rent again.

Property is beautiful and as described. Everything was there that we needed for cooking and trips to the beach. We kept the windows open for a constant cool breeze during warm evenings. We went to St. John as a group of two families and had a great one week stay at Ixora. What you see in the pictures is what you get, the property is fantastic and the views are incredible. The managing company does a really good job, are responsive, and are there for the guest if any need arises. Overall, a great vacation for us.

Perfect layout for 6 adults and 4 children under the age of 5. Exquisite views of the ocean. close proximity to the main beaches. Lovely family experience. Three issues to think about: accessibility to good food is a problem, bugs and no A/C. Not so much an issue with the property but with the island of St John itself. There is a continual breeze and we are not an A/C family so we were all comfortable. Also, the property was clean and orderly however behind and under beds (where bugs hide) it could use a thorough cleaning. My family made many wonderful memories here. It was perfect for gathering, relaxing and playing together.

This property is perfectly located with beautiful views and easy access to the best beaches. The rooms and living area gave us everything we needed. An ideal property for a group with center building for living, dining and hanging out. The outdoor are is enormous with very good seating for lounging as well as dining. Bedrooms are great and allow for time away from others. Some have mentioned no ac but the breeze at top of mountain. Bring some no seeum spray just to refresh if you have any issues with some bites. And frankly unless you traverse the island in a h to m ti ally seals bubble, you will get a few bites. Would return for sure And the mgmt group was great!

Stay was wonderful, property has well stocked kitchen and a great lay out. Check in was easy especially since our flights went wonky and our arrival time changed last minute. Property manager was knowledgeable about the area and gave great recommendations for food and groceries. The villa book has great information and I was able to book a half day charter from it easily. I do agree about not wanting to be out after dark but that's a st john thing

Weā€™ve stayed at many places around STJ and Ixora ranks right at the top. From the beautiful home, to the amazing pool, views and beyond it was all great. James and JP were super easy to work with and very responsive. One day the water in the house stopped working and they had someone out to fix it by the time we finished the Reef Bay Trail. Perfect location for easy access to north shore beaches as well which made it easier with the kids. 5/5 stars.
