Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. The Octagon Beach House is located on the shores of Lake Michigan with your own private beach nestled in a woodland setting. Just minutes from downtown St. Ignace and the many attractions in the area, such as Mackinaw Island, Castle Rock, Fort Mackinac, Casinos and more. Enjoy watching the beautiful sunsets while walking along the shore, or enjoying the fire pit, roasting marshmallows, reminiscing the days activities and creating memories that will last a lifetime. A lovely rental! It was really great to hang out on the lake, and you can just about see the bridge from the yard. It’s pretty close to the downtown area but far enough away that you get a great view of the stars at night. The place was clean and well stocked. Easy access instructions and check out didn’t require too much effort. We did lose power for a bit (half the city did!), but Stephanie was available to answer any questions we had regarding how the house would handle that. (It’s on a well, so no water; we didn’t have to come up with a contingency plan since the power came back on during the phone call!) Which is all just to say that we had good communication with the host!

We loved this location! The house was adorable, clean and had everything we needed. It was right on a rocky beach and we could see the Mackinac Bridge if you walk out a short distance. Town and ferry were nearby. Thank you to the host!

If you have the opportunity to rent this house don’t let it pass you by. It’s close enough to shopping but still gives up North cottage vibes! We had the best weather for the weekend! No complaints.

This was a great family vacation spot. We loved the privacy and the beach view! It was too cold to swim the week we were there, but we enjoyed the sunsets and walks along the shoreline. The cottage is clean and comfortable. The internet was great, very fast and reliable. I highly recommend the Octagon Beach House.

We absolutely loved staying at this home and plan to return again next year! The kids (and myself) wanted to never leave. It was so peaceful and the water was amazing and crystal clear, we swam everyday. The owners thoughtfully stocked the house with everything you would need. Our kids especially loved the loft room and all the toys they had available.

Wonderful Stay in Every Way!

Cute, comfortable, clean, and cozy vacation retreat in a wonderful location with wonderful stone shallow water beachfront - wonderful for watching sunsets to the west, moonrises to the east, and Northern Lights to the north! Plenty of room to spread out with comfortable seating inside and out. Great spot to watch freighters, go snorkeling, and check out the Mighty Mac bridge. The home was so clean and had everything we needed - with nice touches like nightlights and a well equipped kitchen. Great communication with owner. And just minutes from many restaurants, shops, and, ferries to the Island.

The house was well stocked with essentials and having the lake practically right outside the door was beautiful. It is extremely rocky (we all had water shoes and a zebra mussel still managed to slice its way through my sons water shoe and slice his foot open so I highly recommend caution in the water).

Magical Beach Vacation!

Beautiful beach front property with all the amenities you need to unplug and relax! Cozy and clean, a mix of modern and rustic decor, close to the bridge, close to the national dune shore, short trip into St. Ignace and easy access to Mackinac Island. We had a wonderful time relaxing with the family, playing corn hole, swimming, and exploring the area. 10/10 will definitely be back!

Amazing Stay

My family stayed at this home celebrating a graduation with a family trip. The house was perfect for us and private for beach time. We had a fire, played yard games and just spent the best time together. The kitchen was well equipped also so I cooked most meals. We explored the Island and St. Ignace was gorgeous. The host was excellent at communicating with us.We will come again. We loved this property!

Wonderful Beach House

We stayed in early October. Everything was perfect. The property is secluded and very quiet. Private beach just steps from the back door. Nice for a little bonfire on the cooler nights. The house had everything we needed. Comfy furniture and beds. Very clean. Would definitely stay again.

AMAZING VACATION RENTAL!

This is probably the best vacation rental we have ever stayed at - mostly due to the location right on Lake Michigan. We loved having the lake right outside the door and it was beautiful. One night we went swimming with the sunset on one side of us, and the Mighty Mac on the other side of us. The beach is very rocky, so make sure to bring water shoes! The house was perfect for my husband and me and our 3 kids. The older 2 loved the loft upstairs with bunk beds and bean bag chairs. My littlest had his own bedroom downstairs and mom and dad enjoyed having a king sized bed just like at home. The kitchen was decent and nicely stocked and we appreciated having a washer and dryer right on site to take care of kids clothes. Stephanie was a great host! I had a few booking questions that she was able to help with in a timely manner. She was also extremely friendly and communicative when I realized we had forgotten something at home. All in all, we LOVED OUR STAY and can't wait to come back sometime.

Delightful! Clean! Cozy!

Our family of five very much enjoyed our stay! It was convenient for sight seeing at Mackinac Island and the surrounding area. The house itself had plenty of space and a large bathroom. Our sons (5 & 7) were overjoyed they got to sleep in bunk beds in the upstairs loft. The house was furnished well and stocked with all the essentials! The beach access was lovely! We were pleasantly surprised how clear and shallow the beach was, perfect for our kids to skip rocks and explore.

Quiet northern beach getaway

We loved our stay. It was so peaceful and getting to see sunrises and sunsets from the same place was beautiful. Our kids had tons of fun exploring the beach and watching the big boats go by. It felt like we were out in the country even though we were just 5 minutes from the heart of St Ignace and the Mackinac Bridge. It felt like a great “home base” for exploring a lot of the UP. We would love to come back

Perfect Getaway Spot

The Octagon house was the perfect location for a long weekend for my family. It is so close to St. Ignace and Mackinaw City but you don't feel like it when you are at the home. The setting is amazing with Lake Michigan access, sunset views on a wooded private piece of land. The home is clean, the beds sleep comfortably and there are plenty of amenities to make the stay worry free. One special note, the owner was very kind and flexible with us when we had to cancel our first reservation at the last minute because of a death in the family. We will stay here again!

This property was exactly what our family needed. The cabin was clean, quiet and very comfortable! It had a secluded feel to it, but was only about 5 minutes to several dining options, shopping and The Mackinac Bridge. The property had everything we needed to make our family vacation one to remember. Stephanie was thorough and quick with answers to all of our questions. The beach is all rocks but water shoes easily solve this problem. It seems that great care was put into thinking of any possible item a guest might need. The sunsets over Lake Michigan were spectacular as well.
