"I've been driving by The Shoe for over 40 years and finally took the opportunity to spend a weekend there with life-long friends. It.Was.Fantastic!!!! It's cozy, cool, creative, and full of history! We were thankful for rainy weather because we did not want to leave! Thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU to the owners and host for preserving this iconic York County site and for the perfect place to have a mini-vacay with my girls!"

"Myself, my wife, and our dog stayed the weekend while I was in town for a seminar and, truthfully, I can't think of a single thing about this property that wasn't wonderful. It's located close to everything in town without being in town itself. It's right off a main road, but the cottage is set back enough so that it is not obtrusive. "Much older home with 2 bathrooms ,one on second floor and one on third floor . There was an awful smell coming from the tub on 3rd, floor. My son being a plumber said it was not vented properly. Bedrooms were all upstairs 2nd and 3rd floor, very comfortable beds and clean, Stairs were narrow and hard to climb for the older ones staying, especially just to go to bathroom. Only 1 parking space for property so any extra vehicles had to park elsewhere away from the house, We had to be dropped off...

"Perfect house for a weekend getaway. Peaceful, beautiful property. We enjoyed sitting outside and seeing the horse and buggies go by and the farmers working in the fields next door. The house had everything we needed to make for a perfect stay. This was our 2nd time staying here and we look forward to coming back again."

"We had a nice 3 days here. But the house’s design is sort of awkward— we kept stubbing our toes on the hearth on our way to the porch, for instance—and it was more expensive than nicer houses nearby."

"This little farm house was perfect for our weekend anniversary trip! It was perfect for the two of us and we had a great time visiting Hershey Park. The house is about a half hour drive from the park which worked out great for us, and there were many little shops/farm stands that we were able to stop in while driving around. "We wanted to be near Ephrata, Sight and Sound Theater, Intercourse, Litiz; this was a perfect spot. Fun drives around the countryside; away from cities; just what we wanted. There was room for 3 of us to spread out and have breakfast before taking off for the day. The upstairs bed is pretty firm but we enjoyed each having our own room."
