"Really enjoyed our stay"

"Room was clean. Plenty of space, living area, bathroom and kitchen appliances (washer and Stove). Staff were very helpful, polite and assisted with luggage on arrival. Given directions to public parking lot just around the corner, with entrance from the rear of the pub also providing access to the parking lot. (Pay and display). Lot clears out after school day ends, and first hour free, no charge 6pm to 8am, the first hour free the next day. Had supper at the venue, good food, basic menu....

"On the plus side, the bathroom was very clean. On the downside, there was no hot water in the shower. There was no alarm clock, or any clock, anywhere. There were no kleenex. The ceiling in the bedroom had water damage. The "hotel" had no staff. There was a number to call with questions, but nobody answered. Breakfast had to be ordered at booking, but they didn't tell you that at booking, but you could only book breakfast at a time no one else booked. Overall, not very welcoming -- when...

"This property is described as “Luxury” on Expedia. I’m not sure who came up with that description, but it is very much at the other end of the luxury scale. Granted, the building is old, but having read the description, we were looking forward to a high-spec, luxury boutique B&B with parking. Unfortunately, the reality was a world away from the impressive sales pitch. The parking is not private, as implied by the Expedia description, but public parking in the nearby square. "We just stayed one nught for a weekend event in Clitheroe and it was perfect! The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Loads of free onsight parking and staff very helpful. We ate an evening meal and breakfast and everything was really nice. The only think that would have topped it off would be a bar open in the evening. Would definately stay again and recommend."
