"I had a really wonderful time staying here. The breakfast was very tasty, the garden was beautiful and I felt really looked after. I would definitely come back again! Only small issue was the parking. Luckily it is not busy so there is parking at the back but I can feel this might come to issue since it's a small car park and you dont want to park on the side of the road but tbh this is very minor and it's a bit nitpicking as I have really enjoyed my stay."

"Stayed the night in the converted skittle ally - Pre-Booked a table for Dinner days before, Service was really poor - Left for 35 Minutes with no one attempting to take order, had to go to bar to complain - staff more interested in chatting with locals then serving the tables - food was dropped on the table, at no point did anyone ask if the food was ok, left feeling like we were not welcome - a complete shame because the food we did receive was amazing ! clearly a great kitchen team, let down...

"What a beautiful hotel. I stayed in a superior double which was very well appointed. The bed was very comfortable, plenty of storage space, fluffy towels, plenty of hot water and excellent tea and coffee, biscuits and water. The owners were very friendly and made me feel most welcome. The breakfast was freshly cooked to order and was delicious. You would never go hungry. The air conditioning was a real bonus, although unfortunately it did drip a little water on the floor. My only other niggles...

"Hotel location was very good and the staff were very nice and helpful. The cooked breakfast was excellent. The room was comfortable and clean but the walls are thin so you can hear adjoining TVs and voices. It's worth packing some earplugs if you like an earlyish bed time."

"Caro the host was lovely and friendly and very hospitable. The old Manor House is beautiful set in rolling countryside. The bedroom was large, beds were comfortable and good shower. Caro provides an excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. Would defo visit again. The Globe Inn nearby does good food and the staff and locals were good fun."

"Wonderful period property, all modern conveniences, comfortable beds, luxury bedding, spotlessly clean. Situated just off the high street with secure on site parking, and within walking distance of various eating establishments. Website is easy to use, and informative, covers everything you need to know about the property and local area. Jamie & Gary are fabulous hosts. Highly recommend this establishment."

"Very lovely couple running the Town House! Was greeted by a lovely Lily at the door (their dog)! Would recommend calling them just before you get there as it can be difficult to find a parking space on the road Breakfast was lovely, nice selection of cereals and toast"

"Lovely stay, just a few yards from the sea front. Lisa and Christophe made us feel very welcome. The swimming pool was great and just what you need after a long drive or busy day around Torbay. The breakfasts we enjoyed each morning were delicious and kept us full throughout the day. Would definitely return and highly recommend a stay at the lovely Charterhouse if you're looking for somewhere to stay in Torquay."
