Hiker and nature lovers paradise!! Newer Bald Rock cabin retreat on 6 acres at 3900' featuring a spring-fed creek babbling below the wraparound porch. This home is part of the Bald Rock Community with access to all Sapphire Valley amenities including Fairfield Lake, Golf Resort, Indoor and Outdoor pools, Tennis Courts, Basketball Courts, Workout-room, and seasonal Skiing. This unique mountain hideaway is located just steps from Continental Divide & private entrance to Panthertown Valley trail-head. A short walk leads to the famous waterfalls, granite domes, native brook trout, and trails of the "Yosemite of the East." The home features classic mountain style with cedar siding, open floor plan, breakfast bar, efficient kitchen, living area with wood stove, big open loft, cathedral wood ceiling, rustic pine floors, ceiling fans, mud/utility room, large attached storage room, first floor master bedroom with full bath and walk-in closet, and stone patio with fire pit.

We really enjoyed this home and the surrounding area of Sapphire Valley/ Cashiers. It was our first time to this area of NC. The home was very comfortable and clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. A better TV and Netflix in primary BR would be nice, but no big deal. The owners were very nice and responsive. The drive to the home is a bit intimidating at first (GPS and daylight helps!) but after we did it a few times, we got used to the route. Ingles grocery store is a 15 minute drive and we picked up groceries there a few times. We enjoyed Slab Town Pizza and custard shop a few doors down. Slab Town had outdoor seating which would be really nice if a bit warmer. Cabin is nested in a valley in a beautiful community, but it still felt private. We enjoyed the fire pit. We didnā€™t get to tube at Sapphire Valley community center as we hoped because they donā€™t pre book and sell out fast each day during the holidays. We hiked a surrounding trails, walked around some shops in town, and around Fountain Lake. We just enjoyed nature and the peace and quiet. It was nice to be able to walk right down to a trail. It was pretty cold and trail was bit wet (after a few days of rain) but we still enjoyed ourselves. Hiking boots or water resistant shoes recommended.Overall, a great place. Highly recommend!

Adorable, cabin nestled in the woods with Running-brook. Thereā€™s a State walking trail a quarter mile from the home that takes you to several waterfalls. We met someone on the trail who just seen a black bear at the first waterfall. We missed it by five minutes. Highly recommend this rental property.

This home is so charming! We hiked directly from our yard through beautiful trails, rarely seeing others until we joined the more popular Panthertown trails. Played golf at the community course. Cooked on the grill and had several relaxing fireplace/firepit evenings. Great internet speed. This home is very private, quiet, with no neighbors in sight... and in a gated community. Owners were very helpful when called upon. We will return!

My family has been traveling to the mountains for the past 15 years and this is the first place to exceed our expectations. It is obvious that the Hylandā€™s care deeply for their property. The outside is spotless and has lots of great places to discover, the inside is very comfy, clean and well maintained. We would highly recommend staying here and we hope to return each year.

We loved our time in this cabin! It was quiet, comfortable and had everything we needed for a relaxing family getaway. We loved the access to trails just out the door, the great wrap around porch, hammock by the creek, and family games to play at night. It was a bonus to bring our four-legged child too! We would love to return!

This place was great with the location to many trails. Once you get used to the beautiful winding roads itā€™s a snap. We actually wanted to extend our stay but the cabin was occupied. Would highly recommend for a great escape.

Great cabin at the TOP of the mountain! Great getaway with lots to do on the property. Kids had a great time exploring the area and playing in the creek. Fire pit was great for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows! Upstairs loft area was a great place to build a fort and watch movies. Owners were great and super responsive. Weā€™d definitely go back if weā€™re ever in that area again.

I chose this as a spot for a weeklong retreat. Wi-Fi access was excellent. Location was ideal tucked away but felt very safe. Easy access to trails and surrounded by beautiful woods. The owners were very kind and helpful. Highly recommend

The house was clean and private. Easy hiking to multiple waterfalls just past the driveway. We took advantage of the amenities pass and paddled around the lake, played mini golf, enjoyed the heated pool, and ziplining. For a family with young (4 & 6) children this place can't be beat!

This property is lovely with plenty of room and the comforts of home. We enjoyed the walkable access to the Panthertown trails and the easy drive to shopping and dining in Cashiers and Highlands. Even enjoyed a concert on the green in Cashiers. We loved the amenities too. Highly recommend!

We had a fantastic trip to this cabin! Cleanliness of the cabin was perfect and there were plenty of linens, pillows, etc. Communication prior to check-in with the owners was also great. We truly loved the amenities offered by Sapphire Lake. We went to the lake every day we were there and our kids loved it - it was so special boating around the lake with the mountains around us. It is a bit of a drive to the cabin once you leave the main road so we found it best to make dinner at the cabin and enjoy the patio (and fireflies!).The fire pit was perfect for smores and our kids enjoyed walking down to the creek. We are already planning a return trip next year so we can enjoy more of the hikes we didn't fit in this trip. Our kids loved the upstairs area and the Wii! Overall, truly not a complaint and we are happy to have discovered this cabin.

We cannot say enough good things about our experience! Cleanliness is definitely at the top of the list! This location has the best combination of privacy and seclusion, and an abundance of activities for the entire family to enjoy. Our family hiked to waterfalls within walking distance from the house, went horseback riding, fishing, mining for gems, and boating and swimming on Fairfield Lake. The owners couldnā€™t be any more accommodating and friendly. We left the house wishing that we could stay for the rest of the week! Thank you for such a great experience!!

An adorable Mountuan retreat for those who love solitude & tranquility yet are still close enough to the amenities of civilization. Excellent location for enjoying flora & fauna, walkable to hiking trails, a babbling brook saunters through the property, clean, cozy & well appointed rooms. Absolute safety & privacy. Plenty to do within very short, scenic drives around the area. Nice restaurants, a handful of specialty stores, & a couple of cute little towns close by. Something for everyone as experiences to be had are both relaxing and invigorating. Highly recommended.

After the way this year has gone, my family desperately needed a quick getaway for a nice, long weekend! This property was absolutely perfect for what we wanted. The remoteness of the cabin on the mountain was perfect. We loved the quick access to all of the trails found in the area and spent most of our time exploring them. We also loved the closeness to Ski Sapphire Valley where we enjoyed snow tubing. The cabin could not have been more perfect. The master bedroom was super comfortable and spacious. The en-suite bathroom allowed us to still enjoy the comforts we are used to in our home. The upstairs bedroom with twin beds was perfect for our 13 and 10 year old. We also loved the loft area! The open concept kitchen/dining/living area was also perfect! Our only wish was that the weather had been a little better, but we did not let the light rain stop us from having a great mini vacation! Thank you so much for allow8ng us to rent this property! We will definitely be returning in the future and are already planning what we will do when we return!

I cannot say enough good things about this home. It is tucked into the most gorgeous woods and so close to excellent hiking. We enjoyed the access to the resort amenities but our favorite part was just being in nature and relaxing in the comfortable house. The Hylandā€™s were gracious and responsive hosts. We hope to return soon!

Beautiful secluded setting with stream flowing thru property - easy walk to Panthertown Valley access trails - a few waterfalls within 2-4 mile hikes - also great base to drive to many other excellent hikes in Cashiers/Highlands area - definitely plan to go back
