Check in was supposed to be at 3, but staff said we didn’t have a reservation. Eventually, they found it, but then they said they didn’t have a room. Again, eventually, they said they had a room, but we had to wait for it to be cleaned. We waited until 4:30 to be given a room and the cleaning staff were still there. We had to stand outside in the heat most of this time, and I have health issues, so we decided to cool and go for a swim. I have a medical service dog that I have to take everywhere with me, or I risk seizures. My dog was by the pool with me and they insisted that my service dog could not be there. It is actually illegal and discriminatory not to allow service dogs in any place in Mexico. They made me take my dog to the room, so I only felt safe to swim for a few minutes more and then left. There is no air conditioning in the room, only a big fan that was very noisy, even in the loudest setting. No hot water in the showers, no water pressure. The tvs didn’t work. The room we were given was not the same as the room shown in the listing. The balcony doors didn’t lock, which felt unsafe. I was surprised how much was wrong with this apartment, despite that it seemed relatively new. Also, we were not given a key to the outside rear of the apartment where we were told to park, so got locked out and had to wait for someone to show up to let us in. We have stayed in many places in San Miguel de Allende over the years, this was one of the worst.
